What I love about our home....

Becca told us about Karla's http://karlascottage.typepad.com/ feature "What I love about my romantic home." I think I posted most of the things I love about our home when I shared my yellow rose collection last week! The master bathroom was shown and it is very romantic with the candlelier above the Jacuzzi. I think our guest room is also romantic with the antique iron (gold leafed) bed.

Above is a photo of the bed in our master bedroom. I made the window treatment a few years ago and have never tired of it. The gold "sheers" behind is actually a gold lace tablecloth. The swag on top of the drapes has entwined floral and gingham fabrics together. Silk hydraneas and other faux flowers are on top. The truth of the matter is: I didn't have enough fabric to make drapes to the floor or a valance, so I had to improvise with all this!

I hope this also shows that my house isn't totally yellow and/or completely full of yellow roses, tea cups, and tea pots!! LOL! If you haven't seen the rest of our house, I invite you to visit last Sunday through Friday to see other favorite things I love about our house!

Hmmmmm, I do not see a yellow rose in it...AMAZING. Also since you must like yellow--which is such a sunny color why do you have this depressing black on your blogging page!!! lol. Hey, I wanted to give you another challenge. Go to my blog and read Sept 25th's post on thankfulness again--smiling in the heart--read it, comment , and then post your own list on your blog of things that you are thankful for or things that make you smile in your heart! Blessings;-)

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments!

Nannykim, to answer your question about the black on my blog - I don't consider black depressing at all! I consider it classy!! I LOVE black! I wear black a lot, I have a lot of black accents in my decor. But, I guess the main reason I like the black on my blog is because I like things unique - there's not many black backgrounds on blogs, so I want to be different! I like the sharp contrast between the black and the yellow rose arbor!

Yep, I do have yellow roses in the master bedroom - remember the jewelry armoire with the white crocheted scarf on top, it has yellow roses on each end!

Thanks! I hope you grow to love black too! Especially my blog!!

Hi Katherine, I love your master bedroom and burgundy is one of my favourite colours.

I also LOVE black and have touches of it in my home and ALOT of it in my wardrobe. I also find it classy and it just feels "right" to me when I decorate with black or wear it.

I've also really been enjoying all your posts lately. Thanks for a wonderful blog!
