Tablescape Thursday - Tree Tea Party

Inspiration for this Tree Tea Party comes from my Old Country Roses "Seasons of Color" plates. This plate design is a OCR Topiary Tree.

Thanks to Susan for hosting Tablescape Thursdays weekly! Go here for lots more inspiration.

I have a tea time tree in the dining room with many small tea cups, tea pots, etc. on it, so this tree is also inspiration for the tree tea party.

I have a Tea Room Village set up in the dining room as well:

What better time for a tea party than right after Christmas, tea parties are very relaxing!

I used this large gold mercury glass vase for the centerpiece,
filling it with red and yellow silk roses.

The gold doesn't show up well since the reflection from the tablecloth is on it!
The two shoes filled with roses are candles!

Each place setting has a gold charger, Old Country Roses plate, and a Seasons of Color salad plate, an Old Country Roses tea cup and crystal water goblet.

The napkins have pink and red roses similar to the OCR rose pattern on the dishes.

My Old Country Roses tea pot serves Holiday Tea to the guests

Won't you join us for tea?

Where would you like to sit?

I had planned to show close-ups of the mini ornaments on the tree, and close-ups of the Tea Room village, plus some of my other small tea rooms and mini tea sets, but I ran out of time!

My husband and I spent the afternoon and evening on a fun date, first we went to the movies and saw "Blind Side." We highly recommend you see this movie, it is wonderful! Very inspiring!

After the movie he took me to Hobby Lobby! Then we went to Applebee's for the "Two for Twenty" special! A very enjoyable time together (to see my sweet hubby, scroll down to the next message!)

It was 9:30 when we got home and I still had to load the tea party pictures, etc. This is why I'm "late" posting, and why I decided to omit the close-up pictures. I will post them this weekend if you would like to return to see them.

I hope you enjoyed my Old Country Roses Topiary Tree Tea Party!

Have a Happy New Year!
God Bless.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Have a wonderful Christmas celebration of our Savior's birthday!
We have received the greatest gift of all - our Beloved Jesus!

Merry Christmas from our Florida home to yours!
Here in Florida the bouganvilla is spilling over the arbor at our entryway!

We used the oversized Christmas ornaments outside again this year.

Walk through this door!
Joe and Katherine welcome you!

Due to being away at Disney World last week I didn't get around to showing the last of my Christmas decorating. We didn't get many boxes out of the attic since we didn't have any company for Christmas. Here are a few things we did put out.

I bought this large deer a few years ago, it was very inexpensive, and I just love it!

This vignette is on top of our china cabinet in our dining room.

The vignette below is on top of our computer armoire in the living room.
This is where I spend a LOT of time - sitting at the computer - blogging, etc!
This vignette stays up year around, I just added the gold poinsettias for Christmas.

The vignette below is in top of the TV armoire in the family room.
I've had the sled, bear, and bike, but the Nutcracker, Train,
and Santa I purchased new this year.

I found the Nutcracker at Home Goods

Well, actually, the Santa and train also came from Home Goods! Love that store!

This photo was taken at the Mariott Resort where we stayed near Disney World.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
from our house to yours!

Nativitiy at Disney World

We were so happy to see this large Nativity scene at Disney World! It was at Hollywood Studios park, where the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Christmas lights are featured. See here:

A close-up of the Nativity. I think it was by Fontani from Italy.

The millions of Christmas lights were donated to Disney World by the Osborne family in Little Rock, AR. The lights used to be on the houses (used in TV shows) years ago, now they are on the businesses since the "backlot" and the houses are no longer there.

Loud Christmas music was playing, fake "snow" was falling, it was an exciting time!

All of these lights were at the Hollywood Studios park.

We went to Magic Kingdom park the first day. The lamp posts were decorated with these Mickey "ears" wreaths.
We stayed till dark. At dusk the Cinderella castle was pink!
Elisabeth's favorite color is pink, so she was delighted!!

At 6:15 they had a special lighting of Cinderella's castle. It was gorgeous!
So many tiny lights, the castle looks frosted!
Joe took these pictures of the castle at a distance, from Main Street.

The second day we went to Epcot.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto topiaries were decorated for Christmas!
We also stayed for the spectacular Epcot fireworks and laser show at 9:30 p.m.
(None of the pictures turned out very good.)

The very, very tall Christmas tree at Epcot! It had an angel on top!
Can you see the people at the bottom? This shows just how tall it is!

Peace on earth
Good will to man

Have a wonderful Christmas!
God Bless.
