Yellow Tulips!

My oldest daughter and her husband came last weekend
to celebrate my birthday! She came in with 15 fresh yellow tulips!

I took pictures outside on our porch.
I'm sorry to say I didn't get any pictures of
my daughter, Alyson!

The tulips stayed so nice, I took a picture
every day!

I think this was Day 3!

I kept taking them back out to the porch
so the true colors would show.

I couldn't believe they didn't open or droop
like tulips usually do!

See my wicker swing on the left?
I get a lot of "porch therapy" right there!

I just like this silouette picture:

Day 5:
We enjoyed Alyson and Dave's visit
so much! In addition to Alyson taking me
shopping to buy clothes,
she and Dave cleaned out our attic! Yay!

They also took us out to dinner!
Sure hated to see them go.

 Day 6:
Soon the tulips will go, but
I'm amazed they never did open out!
I enjoyed them so much!

Thursday

Yellow Orchid!

One of my Mother's Day gifts was a beautiful
Yellow Orchid!

I had wanted an orchid since I haven't
had any in a few years.

My daughter didn't know my desires
so it was really a surprise when
she mailed me one in my favorite color!

She also sent me a bible to go with my
bible collection

Isn't it neat, very
different!

 It's a children's bible, I like it
because of the artwork!

 Have you ever grown orchids?

The flowers last about three months!

When you have one it makes you just want more!
Now I want a while one, a pink one, and
also a purple one!  :-)

 They are easy to grow.

And give you so much enjoyment!

I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day
as much as I did!

My other daughter is coming this weekend for my birthday.
She takes me shopping to pick out my gifts! Fun!

Sunday

Lunch on the Pier

We just returned from a week's vacation.
We went back to where we used to live.
Due to some health issues we don't venture too far from home anymore.
It's about a 2-hour drive from where we now live.
We have a timeshare down there that we enjoy going to
just to relax and we also get to see some of our friends
who still live there.

As long as we lived in that area we had never been to the
Cocoa Beach Pier.

Since our anniversary was the end of April, we
decided to eat somewhere on the ocean, so we chose the Pier!

We felt like tourists!
See how happy Joe looks here?

Well, he didn't smile when the server took our picture!

My picture was too dark since I was by the window.
We sat inside where the A/C  is!

It was fun playing tourist for a day!
Actually, our first choice for lunch or dinner was a favorite
spot we used to go to when we lived nearby -
The Mango Tree Restaurant,
we were shocked and disappointed that it had been torn down and replaced with a fish restaurant.

Cute towel "sculptures"
at our condo:

We had a very relaxing vacation with lots of R&R,
but there's no place like home!
