Beach Theme

I'm joining Kathleen's Let's Dish beach theme party! Click on her name for lots more inspiration!

My inspiration for the beach them came from these salad plates.
I bought them at Beall's several years ago. I think Beall's is a FL based store and they always have lots of tropical things. There's plates each with with a different beach cottage on them.

I loved the plates because they remind me of the little cottages we saw at Captiva Island and the Keys, when we were there! I can't begin to choose a favorite color or style! Can you?

I placed them on bright colored chargers with bold colored placemats, all in contrasting colors.

The centerpiece is a white doll sized Adirondack chair, filled with hibiscus flowers.
Fake palm trees are on either side:

Those fake foil trees came from Dollar Tree.
These little sandpiper birds also came from Dollar Tree:
I love watching the little sandpipers scurrying around so fast on the beach!
That pink flamingo also came from Dollar Tree!
A Florida tablescape should always have a pink flamingo!
How cute is this one with the "flotation device!"
Seashells are scattered along the centerpiece:

I used white napkins to match the white adirondack chair:
The napkin rings are made of shells. I think these have a fancy name, but I can't think of it right now! I found them at an estate sale a couple of years ago. I tucked a silk hibiscus bloom into the napkin rings:
The shell napkin rings show up better on the white.

The hibiscus blooms make them pop!
I had a lot of fun putting this one together, and it was very inexpensive!

The lime green tumblers came from Home Goods a few years ago.

Do you have a favorite color combination? Favorite cottage?

The colors in this tablescape are very cheerful, we are enjoying seeing it daily!
I hope you enjoy it too!

We're Back

We arrived back home Monday night after traveling 1700 miles the twelve days we were gone.

Home Sweet Home!
The day after the funeral in North Alabama, we drove to Knoxville, TN to visit number-three daughter and her family for a few days. Next we drove across the mountains to SC where number-two daughter lives with her family. We had already visited with number-one daughter and her family in Tallahassee, FL the first night we were gone. She and her husband also drove with us the eight hours to funeral.

Visiting the younger two grandchildren was a good idea as it was a good diversion from the sadness of the funeral. (We had also visited with our two grown grandsons, in Tallahassee.)

We visited another kind of mouse in TN, different from the DW mouse in FL!
Elisabeth with Chuckie Cheese mouse!
She is five.

This little puppy, Madison, is a new member of the family in SC.
Madison is adorable and gave us lots of love, kisses, and laughs! So did Caden! He's five too.

We also visited the Farmer's Market for lots of fresh fruit and veggies!
Check out these luscious SC peaches!

I enjoyed seeing many family members, but it's good to be back home!

Back home to the peace on our back porch.

The peacefulness of swinging.....

Our swing is one of my favorite places to meditate

Many conversations with the Lord are right here...

Blessings.....

I painted the above sign since we do live beside the still waters....

He really did lead us beside the still waters!

He gives us the grace to get through any trial and tribulation, even the death of a family member. Praise The Lord!

Thanks to all of your who left sweet comments on the tribute to my sister. I will visit all of you soon.

I'm also linking to Rhoda's Porch Party. Click on her name for lots more.
