The Reason for the Season

This last Christmas tablescape features The Holy Family. The Reason for the Season. Sometimes we get so caught up in the busyness of the holidays and we forget what the holiday is for. Jesus came to earth as our Saviour! Praise God for sending His Son!

I collect Nativities and this white one is one of my favorites. I think it came from Hobby Lobby years ago.
I have done several tablescapes with the white Nativity, one was done in all white. I have used it on a burgundy tablecloth, a lace tablecloth, and now a green tablecloth.

The dishes came from Cracker Barrel a few years ago.

Each plate has a different word.

The dessert plate has a pretty holly design on it, and the smaller plates repeat the special word.

My new Christmas plaid napkins are used again, this time with a sheer white napkin and pearl napkin rings.
I love these napkins and have enjoyed using them with the last three tablescapes!

The flatware is clear plastic handles

The Centerpiece

White silk poinsettias flank the Holy Family creating a beautiful centerpiece

A place just for you. Do you want Peace? Love? Joy? Hope?

Praying you will have a very Blessed Christmas celebrating our Lord Jesus' birthday.

Thursday

Santa 'Scape

Inspiration for this Santa tablescape started with these vintage look Santa chargers found at Michael's last month. They were on sale for $2.50 each, and since I love vintage look things I couldn't resist getting them.

I'm joining Cuisine Kathleen's Let's Dish. Click on her name for lots of inspiration. I'm also joining Susan's Tablescape Thursday. Thanks to these ladies for hosting these fun parties for us!

I made one other purchase - this pretty red lace tablecloth, it was only $7.99 at Ross.

I also used my new red goblets (featured in last week's tablescape) as well as the red plaid napkins, used last week. I'm going to get a lot of mileage from these!

I've had the red flatware for a long time and the clear plates. I used the clear dinner plates and clear salad plates so the charger picture could show through.

For the centerpiece I used these cute little Santa guys!

I collect cute and unusual Santas!

Here they are close-up:

I also have a Santa tree with these Santa elves on it. They elves all have wings, not sure what they are called.

These pretty Santas also deserve some recognition!

We have enjoyed this cheerful merry 'scape!

Here's a place for you to sit!

Can you see the puppet on a stick Santa is holding?

I have a "Santa on a Stick" I display on a curtain valance each year:
(I have him on a door knob here so he shows up better.) I found him at Tuesday Morning years ago.

Ho, ho, ho!! Have a very Merry Christmas!
Do you see what I forgot?

Let's Dish - Copy Cat Christmas Tablescape

The picture above is from Pinterest, it was on The Everyday Home in November 2013 on "A Farmhouse Christmas."  I, along with Kathleen and a few others, have chosen this picture from Pinterest to do my Copy Cat Tablescape Challenge. Below is another photo of this tablescape. This is Anita's of Far Above Rubies blog.

Below is my version of this "Farmhouse Christmas" tablescape:

Cuisine Kathleen said she didn't have to buy anything to do her version, but I have been collecting things for this for a few months.  I bought these pretty plaid napkins:

They were only $1.99 each and I bought four (all they had.)

I looked for a while to find these pretty red goblets. I passed up several styles, but held out for these and I'm glad I did. They were at Beall's Outlet and were only $11.99 for four, and were packaged in a box for easy storage! I bought two boxes, and I bought them on senior day with 15% off!

The third thing I had to buy was this box(es):

I found them at Hobby Lobby for $7.99 each, but they were half price, or two for the price of one! I will later use them for CD boxes!

As you can see I didn't break the bank to do this tablescape. I had the white Dollar Tree plates already.

The white cups and saucers were from Home Goods a few years ago, and the place mats from Walgreen's a while ago.

I already had the white candles and I used faux greenery.

The centerpiece was very easy to put together.

 Merry Christmas!!
