I have used two clear salad plates and sandwiched sheet music and dried flowers between the two plates. I'm using different Christian hymns at each place setting.
For the centerpiece I used a large metal cross, a book box, faux flowers, and a bible verse plaque.
A white lace (I call it wedding lace) tablecloth is layered over an apple green tablecloth
The napkins are sheer and the napkin rings gold to match the gold leaf chargers.
Amazing Grace
Holy, Holy, Holy
Morning Has Broken
Breathe on Me, Breath of God
The gold leaf chargers are from Pier 1, about 15 years ago
The crystal look flatware came from Ross (I think!) I bought it this past year for about $11.99
Keep in mind, the dried flowers are sandwiched in between two clear glass plates! Other things such as poems, invitations, birth announcements, family pictures, etc. could also be used instead.
I hope you enjoyed this tablescape! I enjoyed putting it together! This tablescape is an answer to prayer! I have been praying, asking if I should continue to blog and the idea of this tablescape came to mind. I feel it was the Lord speaking to me to continue creating, since this is one of my favorite things to do!
I don't usually write personal things on my blog, but I did on my last post. If you would like to read it, click here (or scroll down.) Some of you were so kind to leave comments and encouragement for me, thank you!
Thanks to Susan, Between Naps on the Porch for hosting! Go here for lots more inspiration.
I'm also linking to The Style Sisters Centerpiece Wednesday, click here for lots of pretty centerpieces!
Have a great day!
God Bless.

Really neat, I love the idea of personalizing your place settings using clear dishes! Your tablecloth and napkins are beautiful too-enjoy!
That is a great idea putting those hymns behind the clear plates! This idea could be used in so many other ways too! Very lovely setting! I also really love your flatware. I just love Ross!
I had a luncheon for some older ladies once and used a book theme. I made the place mats out of paper from books and books stacked all over the table. It really was fun, sugar. And the ladies had a grand time!

I love the sheet music idea and may have to borrow that. Great idea and pretty table.
That is so pretty, K! I bet the prayer group was so thankful you fussed for them!
I pick Amazing Grace, as my mom's name was Grace. A widow at 49 with my sister in a wheelchair, and me a teenager. She raised 4 girls, and you know that is not easy! She was Amazing!
I just love this!! What a great idea, that I never would have thought of! Beautiful, and I will steal this idea!
I LOVE this idea...love it!!xo rachelr
Katherine -- how unique to sandwich music and flowers between two plates...it's perfect for a church luncheon. Joni
What a petty table and fun idea. Your tablecloth is gorgeous!
I love the versatility of my clear glass plates. You've set a beautiful setting. How pretty.

What a wonderful idea to put those hymns under the glass plate. I would never have thought of it, and I love it. I really want to copy that idea some time.
The whole table is lovely. I know that your Bible study group loved it too!
I love your ideas Katherine! I think I'll go with morning has Broken as my favorite, at least for tonight! It seems appropriate in my life right now. I like the ideas of putting something in between the glass plates! Your blog is very inspiring. Please continue! I am now a follower. Linda
Katherine, you tablescape is just wonderful. I love all of your songs, so I couldn't pick a favorite. Using the clear glass dishes is such a lovely idea. Your crystal handled flatware is so pretty too. I love all of it. Hugs, Marty
So clever. Love the sheet music below the glass plates.
Your header is adorable, but I miss the one from many months ago with your yellow Depression Glass.

Oh how clever creating a religious tablescape for a prayer group. I am sure they will really appreciate that. I like Amazing Grace! I am really enjoying the store, Katherine. I love rearranging after something sells and that's really the only time I need to go there, when I have to rearrange. The problem is something sells all the time so I am constantly rearranging, which is a good thing cause I really enjoy it....Christine
Very pretty table and I love the hymns between the dinner plate and salad plate. Great job.
Your use of the sheet music and the clear plates is ingenious! Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
What a wonderful idea! I love Amazing Grace...it reminds me of how far I have come with God's grace!
Your tablescape is so clever. Your tablecloth is beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Blessings, Elaine
This is such a wonderful idea! I love the thought of all the variations you could do with this idea. The hymns are the perfect choice.

I am so glad you left a comment on my blog and then I came to visit you. I just love your table setting. I am going to take notes and mark the date of your post in my notebook. I set a table at church for our Christmas and Mother's Day gatherings and I would love to use your idea. Your talent is evident and I thank you for sharing it. I am new to blogging and to tablescaping but have learned a lot and hope you continue to share your gift with others.
Katherine, this is lovely. I do hope you will continue with your blog. I would miss my visits to the Yellow Rose Arbor. ~ Sarah
Katherine, what a unique idea. I love this. My husband is a minister and this would be a great idea for a meal for him. I'll have to do a candlelight evening meal with his favorite song sheet music "Down From His Glory". Thanks for sharing this beautiful table.
How wonderfully creative you are! Everything looks just wonderful. I would have loved to have heard the comments you must have received when your guests saw your table.
I even saw my favorite "Amazing Grace" under one of the plates...
I didn't see one single song there that I don't play on my piano..every day. They help me create my "quiet time"..
Love and hugs,
Mona
It's all very beautiful, Katherine. I'd have a difficult time choosing between Amazing Grace and Holy, Holy, Holy. Both bring back fond memories of church, home, family, and childhood. I'm sorry I'd missed this post and the one before it. I feel as if I've been one of the people who have disappointed you. You've always been sweet and supportive. I hope you'll continue to blog. Your tables are always tasteful and lovely. I never use a yellow rose in a centerpiece that I don't think of you.
Hi Katherine,
What a wonderful answer to prayer,
your tablescape is lovely hon, and loved your centerpc. and the idea of the music sheets. I love all those songs, they are all so neat!!
I tried to go read your other post but couldn't get to it unfortunately.
Hope you will continue to blog because you have a voice that needs to be heard too.
Blessings hon, Nellie
Katherine...love the music note theme...what a wonderful table setting! :) The napkins are sooo pretty and the tablecloth is gorgeous! I love this idea for a tablescape!
Hugs,
Susan
What a terrific idea! The vignette in the middle is a perfect compliment to the place settings. Your group must have felt very blessed when they sat down to dine.
