Recently I found this Ralph Lauren tablecloth at Home Goods. I have a weakness for plaids and even though I have two other plaid tablecloths, I bought this one! It was on sale for $15. I usually like to pay a little less, but splurged on this one! LOL!
I call this type plaid a Christmas plaid, but I wanted to use it now and not wait a year for Christmas.
I used my butterscotch colored china with it to bring out the gold in the plaid. These dishes were from Marshall's a few years ago. The flatware is from Tuesday Morning.
The initial napkin rings were from Michael's this past year.
The etched amber goblets are from TJ Maxx.
The centerpiece is a terrarium with vintage figurines from the 70s inside, a gift from a favorite aunt back then.
I had a problem with the lighting and didn't get many true color shots.
The picture below is pretty close to the true color of the tablecloth:
What do you think, is it too Christmasy looking?
I like to think of it as a warm cozy plaid blanket look!
It also goes really well with the wall color in our dining room:
I hope you like it as much as I do!

Love the new tablecloth, it goes so well with the color of the room that the pictures gave a glimpse of and it looks like it picks up the color of the dishes in the cabinet...so pretty and looks perfect with the creme dishes....
No, I definitely don't think it's too Christmasy. I think it's very wintery and yet not too dark and dreary the way winter tables can often be. (At least when I try to do them.) I love the way you brought out the butterscotch is the key to the whole table. I probably wouldn't have thought to do that, and it's the butterscotch in the dishes and linens that gives the table the light feeling. I think that's so pretty!
I really love the flatware you used. I sort of have boring flatware around here. I would love some like that. The initial napkin rings are great too. Another thing I'd like to have.
So nice to see you tablescaping! I need to chisel out some time to do a table. I really do enjoy it when I do. Maybe one a month or something...
You know, to keep myself balanced.
Very nice and not Christmas at all.
what a pretty plaid. I think it's perfect for winter. Your butterscotch dishes are beautiful too.
I really like your tablecloth, very pretty table.
I'm with you, Katherine...why wait an entire year to use something so pretty? Besides, plaid isn't just for Christmas in my book! I love to use it year round. By pairing it with the lighter colored dishes, I think you have just created a very nice "winter" look rather than a specific Christmas look.
Great bargain on the tablecloth, too. It's rare to find RL stuff for as low as I would normally like to pay.
I guess Florida is just about the only Southern state not to get hit with all the icky, snowy, cold. I hope that holds up! Take care, and have a wonderful Super Bowl weekend!
I love your plaid!! Just like you said-it's warm and cozy!! Just what I need after a week of more than freezing temperatures!!!
I like that you changed it from a Christmas feel to something Winter Delightful with the yellow. Very nice.
Beautiful tablecloth! I agree; it looks like a cozy blanket, perfect for winter.
I love your pretty plaid tablecloth. Looks so lovely to me! Thanks for popping in to see me and I did go over and visit Debbie's blog. She's so funny and now I have a new word - swoopers! ;)
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
So well titled. There is something very cozy about plaid.
