Tablescape Thursday

Time for Tablescape Thursday! Thanks to Susan for hosting so we can play with our dishes! Click on her name to go to her blog Between Naps on the Porch for much more inspiration.

This tablescape is very simple and inexpensive.

The felt leaf shaped placemats are from Dollar Tree, they were the inspiration for this tablescape.
I chose to use the clear dinner plates so the leaf placemat would show through.
The clear plates are also from Dollar Tree.

I'm not using a tablecloth. I like the wood background under the placemats.
I love oak furniture because of the pretty wood grain in it.
It also doesn't show dust as much as dark furniture!

The Centerpiece:
To keep with the clear glass plates I'm using a pretty glass bowl I've had for many years.
It is filled with silk fall flowers and leaves.

The napkins are from TJ Maxx, so are the goblets. The pumpkin napkin rings from Hobby Lobby and the flatware from Tuesday Morning.

I have four different colors of the placemats.
A red-orange

A maroon

Orange

And rust.

My fall tablescape!

There are four different napkin rings:

I'm really enjoying the green goblets and I did find four more (at Marshall's) I went back to Dollar Tree to buy more placemats so I could use more of the glasses, but they didn't have anymore of the placemats :-(

I hope you enjoyed my fall leaf tablescape!

I look forward to seeing your tablescape too!

I'm also linking to The Style Sisters Wednesday Centerpieces, click here to see lots more!

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Katherine

Great idea to use the clear plates. I probably would have tried to use a color and it would have missed the whole point of the leaf placemats. I think your table looks like falling autumn leaves. So perfect on the wooden table. Yet another great call!

Very pretty, K! I love those napkin rings.
When I was shopping with The Tablescaper we both bought those placemats! They are so pretty! I guess they will be like those Gibson white dishes, LOL!
Great job, K!

Very cool! I'm with you on the wonderful richness of the wood table under the leaves. It brings an earthiness to the whole thing. Nice!

Katherine, I love this tablescape. I always enjoy your tables and this one is a big winner. Love all of it. The placemats, plates, flatware, all of it. Whoo Hoo! for Dollar tree. What did we ever do without them.
After all this time I have finally jumped in and published two posts. I posted them on BNOTP's MM and TT. Please take a look and offer any suggestions. They will be appreciated. Hugs, Ginge

Katherine, the clear plates were a great idea, to show off the unique placemats! Your table looks very "fall," with the warm wood and the sparkling glass. Thanks for your visit to my table this week!

I think the placemats are perfect with the clear plates! I also love the wood grain. A very simple but beautiful table. It just goes to prove you don't have to spend alot of money for a beautiful table. Thank you for sharing.

Don't you love the Dollar Tree? I think it is my favorite store! Mr. Magpie loves it, too, and I can't believe you found those cute placemats there. WOW!

I wish I could find plain, clear glass plates like those. Ours only has the cut glass kind. I want to do a craft project with clear glass, and I've been waiting for them to show up some day. I'm not the world's best crafter, so I wanted to be sure and attempt this on dollar plates so that I won't be out too much if I mess up which I easily could! LOL!

Great 'scape!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Katherine -- this is so pretty -- I found those same placemats last year at CVS -- maybe you could check there for some more. Love your wood showing on the table too -- perfect for this tablescape.

The placemats set a wonderful tone for the tablescape, and the napkins tie the assorted colors together....very effective. I have the Argent Sophia flatware, too. It's so much fun to use, but sometimes I forget about it. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

Katherine, I LOVE those clear plates on the placemats! What a great idea! It really does make the placemat the star. I also love the napkins. I never find anything like that except in fabric. Beautiful table!! Thanks for stopping by! The cornbread was an accident turned great idea! I was out of the White Lily cornmeal I always use. So, my mom had given me a packet of hush puppy mix. I thought about just making cornbread cakes, but decided to add an egg, milk and cheese and bake it in an iron skillet. It was SOOO good. It did not even need butter. I think maybe the minced onion was the "secret" ingredient that would make regular cornbread taste like this. Definitely try it!
