Dining Room

The dining room chandy decorated with silk gold tipped holly.

The china cabinet with the Old Country Roses Christmas china displayed.

The top of the china cabinet in the dining room.

The yellow rose tea cart has the Advent Nativity, and the other Nativity has little angels looking at Baby Jesus. The Nativity under glass is done in pastels.

Poinsettias on the valance in the dining room.

The Nativity above, was used as the centerpiece on the dining room table the past two years. It is one of my favorites. I bought it at Walmart for $9.99. The fruit and greenery are from Michael's.

This year I'm using this white Nativity (below) and white silk poinsettias (shown below) I bought this one from Walmart this year, it was only $9.99 too!

I wish you could see how pretty these white poinsettias are. They are almost sheer, and the tips have glitter all around. The center berries, and the grapes also have glitter.
All week I will be featuring different Nativities from my large collection, I hope you will return to see all of them! I'll also show my Nativity tree filled with Nativity ornaments.

I use table runners on the two Parson's chairs in the dining room. I always look for a set when I buy them.

A Nativity is displayed here with a Thomas Kinkade Christmas plate.

Breakfast nook - Gingerbread theme

Chandelier in breakfast nook has gingerbread ornaments hanging on it.

The breakfast nook is decorated with a gingerbread theme.

I found this wooden Santa chef, with a plate of gingerbread men, at Hobby Lobby last year. He fits in so perfectly with the gingerbread theme!
Last year our two new grandbabies a boy and a girl, were born, so I bought these two in honor of Caden and Elisabeth!

This is an old picture taken before we painted the walls and before the chandy shades were painted, and with a different centerpiece before I started doing the gingerbread theme. I'm showing it because it shows the gingerbread garland on the backs of the chairs, they are a little different, the other one has gingerbread men and houses.

Yellow Santa

Here are close-up photoS of the yellow Santas and the tin.

Yellow Santas

I have a few yellow Santas, they are hard to find, and I buy them when I find them. The yellow Santa sitting on the guest room bed tray is dressed in yellow velvet. This little yellow Santa below is about 8 inches tall.
I bought the yellow Santa below at a craft show. He is tole painted on a long wooden sleigh. The tin next to it has a yellow Santa and little animals on it.

These little resin Santas below are cute too, they are all displayed in the guest room during Christmas.

Christmas Decor in Family Room

Santa and Baby Jesus.

This TV armoire always has this vignette on top, I never tire of it and seldom change it. The little Radio Flyer wagon is filled with toys and poinsettias. The little folk art Nativity on top of the TV is one of my favorites, a little fat angel holding a star on a stick over Baby Jesus' head.

We display Santas, reindeer, snowmen, dolls, and whimsical decor. One year the Santas were on top of the doll curio.

The family room coffee has a collection of Santas and reindeer. The candlestick is a crystal Nutcracker.

(Above:) I call this a nature Nativity with the grapevine entwined around it. It is displayed in the Family Room (Great Room.)

The family room, breakfast nook, and kitchen are all one large room.
This little Victorian Village below is sometimes displayed in the breakfast nook, or sometimes in the master bathroom.

Next week I will feature the Santa tree and ornaments, and Snowman tree, and ornaments, with close-ups of the ornaments.

Faith Sharing GroupTea Party

Photos of the tea party I hosted this past Monday. Above, my friend, Gail, posing prettily behind the centerpiece. As you can see I used my new Nativity set as the centerpiece. I also used my OCR Christmas plates on gold leaf chargers, OCR napkins, and deep red rose napkin rings. (Gail will turn 70 next Monday, doesn't she look great! ) Some of the food (above) cucumber sandwiches, pimento cheese sandwiches, and egg salad sandwiches. Desserts were: key lime pound cake, crescent cookies, benne wafers, short bread, and fruit cake. Raspberry scones and date bread with cream cheese sandwiches were served first during the meeting. English breakfast tea, Christmas tea, and White Christmas tea was served.

Tea Room Time!

Joe always takes me to a tea room if we can find one. This one is in Savannah, GA. We went to "The Tea Room" last year when we were there and liked it so much we wanted to go again. This is a picture of the food we enjoyed. We also had salad, and Joe had a big pannini sandwich. We ordered Christmas Tea, and White Christmas Tea. They blend their own loose teas.

Finally, I'm back!

Forsyth Fountain in Savannah, GA, all decorated for Christmas.

We returned from our trip last Saturday, but have had some major computer problems! My computer crashed. My sweet dh has set me up with his laptop until we can purchase a new computer after the holidays.

I have a terrible time getting used to the laptop, especially since it is so sensitive and the least little thing can make it do something I don't want it to do!! Today he connected a mouse to it and that helps, I hate the finger thingy on a laptop!

We've also had some problems with the new Road Runner, and email. I'm thinking of changing to a different email.

We had a nice restful time at Hilton Head. We didn’t go to Charleston as planned because it was further away than we thought (100 miles) We did go to Savannah, and on the way up we stopped at Jekyll Club Hotel and had lunch. I always enjoy going there.

I did something stupid before we left – I was up next to have the Faith Sharing Group and I volunteered to have a tea party if they would each bring something. The meeting/party was Monday. While we were gone we found out Joe’s kids wanted to come Sunday and exchange Christmas gifts, since they are going to be out of town for Christmas. We had planned to do it after Christmas, but they changed their minds. So they came at noon Sunday and stayed till 5. We had to go to church at 5, because the Christmas charity gifts of the two kids (we took their names off the tree) was due. Then I had to go get groceries for the tea. I was up till midnight vacuuming, setting the table, ETC! When I went to bed I was too keyed up and couldn’t sleep. I was still awake at 3:30 a.m. and the alarm was set for 7 a.m. To make a longer story short, I did make it through the meeting/party alright. But I drank tea with caffeine and couldn’t sleep.

Tomorrow I hope to post photos of the tea party.
