Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting so we can play with our dishes. Click on her name for lots more inspiration.
Inspiration for this tablescape came from the silk flowers above. They are purple and green hydrangeas that I fell in love with a few months ago not knowing what I would use them for.
I found these purple wavy edge plates at Walmart last month. They were only $3 each, not as good as Dollar Tree, but still a good price!
It is so hard to get a true picture of purple, it sometimes looks blue, or light purple,
I placed a sparkly leaf in the center with a sparkly purple pine cone in the center of each plate.
The gold leaf chargers and gold trim flatware compliment the purple.
For the centerpiece I placed the hydrangeas in the gold mercury glass bowl.
I have used all the gold recently in other tablescapes. I love being able to use the same items, with different tablescapes since they all turn out differently.
The photo below was taken with the flash, but it washes out the color of the flowers.
This purple is too dark:
This purple is too light!
I just held a plate up to the screen and none of the pictures are the true purple! Please use your imagination! LOL!Even the wall colors are not the true colors here:
Another one too dark and dull:
This is a very simple tablescape, but a doable one that anyone can use and can do it very inexpensively.
We have been invited to Thanksgiving dinner with friends, so it is an easy time for me! What are you doing? Cooking? Dining out? Whatever, enjoy your day!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Love your purple plates.. Great setting, enjoy your day with friends. Happy Thanksgivings.
I love all your rich deep colors of your dishes.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. hugs ~lynne~
Love the purple, gold and green combo. Wonderful flowers!
Katherine, we used the same plates this week...guess we were on the same wavelength! I really like them with the gold charge plates, gives them more depth. Purple is a hard color to photograph.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Cooking for me! Already have lots done.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Joe!
Very pretty! The purple plates are lovely and I can imagine just the right shade! Isn't it nice to use the same things on different tablescapes and have a totally new look! Saves on storage space too!

Katherine, the purple flutted plates are pretty. They are perfect with your flowers. I used a deep purple/eggplant salad plate on my table, but they look black in the photos. At least some of your photos show the true color.
Happy Thanksgiving! ~ Sarah
Good Morning, Katherine...
Happy Thanksgiving, my friend! Ohh...you have done it again...set another beautiful table! Ohhh...we do have sooo much fun playing with our dishes...don't we? Hehe! I love it! Katherine, your purple and green hydrangeas are simply gorgeous!!! This pretty eggplant/plum color is one of my favorites and when paired with this shade of green...it's sooo yummy!!! You know, I seen those pretty eggplant colored plates at Walmart...now I wished that I would have picked a few up! They really set a dramatic table! Ohhhh...and the pretty, sparkly green leaf and purple pinecone look fabulous!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing your beautiful table with us! I know...it's sooo hard to get good photos when the lighting isn't just right! I have the same difficulties at my place. I love my red and olive green walls in the DR but they sure make it hard to get good lighting for photos! I work and work at it! Hehe!
Well my dear friend, wishing you and your family a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!!!
Love ya,
Chari @Happy To Design
The purples look beautiful in your dining room!
Happy Thanksgiving. Have a very blessed day!
Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friend. When I count my blessings - you are at the top of the list of those dear to my heart. Praying that you will have a wonderful day today!

Katherine...I am LOVING your purples. Kind of wish I hadn't passed on those plates at Walmart :)
Blessings!

The dinner wasn't at our house this year either. It was kind of a nice change of pace, and I set my SIL's tablescape...so I was able to feed my addiction. LOL. The purples really are so tricky to use, aren't they? You did a beautiful job on your tablescape. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
Oh how pretty, I love the purple and the color is so stunning in your room. Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving. Hugs, Marty
Purple is so pretty, but so temperamental when it comes to being photographed! My purple stuff almost always turns out looking blue! At least you were able to get it to cooperate enough to convey that it indeed was purple! Glad you were able to find something pretty to do with the hydrangeas. Neat color! Have a happy week!
Love your purple mixed with green -- funny how the color is different in each picture -- we were taking pictures at Thanksgiving and had to use the flash because it was so dark in the house -- Love this mixture with the hydrangeas. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Katherine,
This is especially lovely and elegant!
:)
