Heart of the Home Party

We've been excited about Sheila's Heart of the Home Kitchen party! Thanks, Sheila, for hosting! Click here for lots more pretty kitchens!

Yesterday I shared a bit of my kitchen with this vignette on top of our refrigerator (above.) Today I've been taking more pictures, but the batteries in my camera died and delayed my post!
I have a tea room theme in our kitchen
because of my love for tea time!

We don't have a grand kitchen with the latest modern appliances, but it works for us! What I really love about it is that we have a great room combined with the kitchen, breakfast nook, and family room! It really is "great!!" I wish I had had a great room when my children were small!

which also overlooks a lake!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the Heart of our Home! Now it's time to have a cup of tea, won't you join me!

Do you prefer a tea cup, or a mug?
I also collect Old Country Roses china. Here's my OCR cutting board:

Okay, lets dim the lights and have our tea!

My husband loves indirect lighting and he has it above and below the cabinets, and on top of all the high shelves.

"Mangia!" (I think in Italian this means "eat!" Anybody know?

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Hi Robin,

I love your kitchen: the teapot collection, the child's table and chair set, and those huge, arched windows!

Yes, "mangia" does mean "eat" in Italian.

Please come and check out my book giveaways.

What a delightful space in which to cook & serve your family, Katherine! It is the FL kitchen I always wanted & is very similar to the layout I have now.
I always wanted those Lenox canisters, fashioned after cottages, too. Lucky Dog!!

I didn't get to participate in the party...too miserable with an attack of diverticulitis plus my PC picked up a virus & was out of commission for awhile. I'm still not sure its fixed totally. :*-(
What a week!

Hi Katherine! Thanks for the reminder about your kitchen. I did see it! Would you believe I made time this weekend to blitz through ALL of the kitchens at Sheilas party and admire them. It took alot of time so I stopped commenting in order to see them all. LOL! I do like your kitchen quite a bit and how wonderfully open it is to the rest of your home. I love, love, love, open kitchens. Our old home was an open floor plan like that, and I do miss it. I like how you have space on the top of your cabinets too for all your pretties. You have done a great job with decorating! I especially like your small dish and teacup holder and the fruit in the basket! It's wonderful!

Beautiful kitchen, Katherine! I am glad you told me to take a look. I am late because I spent my time in 2 emergency rooms during Shelia's party. I love the color, it is so bright and I like how you can socialize with anyone in the family room and can watch TV from
your kitchen. The tea theme is fun too! Thanks for your kind words about my mom and my blog entries...Christine

Thanks for the lovely prayer about going on the internet-I need to pray that I won't spend too much time blog-hopping, too. My first visit to your site. blessings on your day!
