It's time for Kelli's
http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ Show and Tell. Visit her blog for many more interesting Show and Tell stories. Today I'm sharing several apple related items. First is a little basket of apples.
It probably won't be very meaningful to you, but the fabric apples are special to me because my mother made them back in the 70s! They are made of red gingham. She made all kinds of fabric fruits in different colors of gingham and calico fabrics. The strawberries she made were made from red with tiny white dots fabric. Limes from green gingham, lemons from yellow gingham, plums from purple gingham, etc. I used to keep a bowl of the fabric fruits on my kitchen table.
Several more posts below will show you a few apple things I have collected over the years.
I'm also sharing my Fresh Apple Cake recipe. I made this yesterday for my bible study group. Come on over for a cup of apple spice tea, and a piece of cake!
I hope you enjoy the apples! Thank you for your interest, please leave a comment! And please do return soon!

Your mother must have put a lot of work and care into her fabric fruits. I'm sure she'd be happy that you display them in such a pretty way today.
I'm copying your apple cake recipe. I like that it is made in a 9"x13" pan. That's so convenient as it bakes quickly and the cake can be stored right in the pan.
Those are adorable! If my mother was still alive. I'd ask how to make them -- she had apple decorations in her kitchen and dining area.
May I have another piece of your apple cake please?? hehe I love anything with apples!! Those fabric apples your mom made are just precious and I love the way you display them, in the fruit basket!! xo
How adorable! I wish I had patterns!
I decorate my kitchen with Apples, so I appreciate your apples very much. :)
That is so special that your mom made those apples for you. I too would think they were a treasure. I still treasure some things of mine from my childhood.
I love your apple plate, and the children holding the apples. They are precious. I have never seen anything like them before. How unique. :)
I love all of your apple decor. Apples always remind me of the farm and they are delicious.
I remember the cloth fruits. Hang on to the ones your mother made you. They are a nice keepsake.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Katherine :) What precious apples! I remember my mother making some of the tiny fabric strawberries with the material you described. I am so glad you have them to enjoy. Blessings! Q
Fabric fruits, wow! You may know that I love sewing and in there is a pattern for fabric strawberries in my sewing book. What a neat idea to sew all kind of fruits!
Have a wonderful week-end!

p.s. thank you so much for visiting my blog and saying such nice things about my mosaic tea cart!
What a neat idea to cover them with fabric. I will have to show my niece that! She is doing apples in her kitchen.
The only apples I have are a set of metal apple canisters that my grandmother bought with some S&H green stamps. I love them!
Those are so cute! How neat that your mother made them and you have had them so long!

I didn't know you had an apple collection too! The gingham apples are adorable. Isn't it fun to see what we made way back then. There are some things I wish I still had.
