Summer Whimsy!

Summer Whimsy! This is the theme for Cuisine Kathleen's Let's Dish Challenge for the month of June. I always enjoy the challenges, thanks for hosting, Kathleen!  We live in Florida and what is more whimsy in FL than fake flamingos!

I have a new bright yellow fringed tablecloth and napkins which I bought from Home Goods recently with a birthday gift card from my daughter.

A great price too for all of them:

I had been looking for a bright yellow tablecloth when I found the light yellow one a few months ago. All of you know how I LOVE any shade of yellow, so I was delighted when I found the bright yellow set and had "free money!" (Also had money left over! Fun, fun!!)

I also have more new placemats, can't beat this price for four!
Hard to get the true color, but they are more fuschia.

 Love the tropical colors together!

This tablescape was quite inexpensive - the flamingos are from Dollar Tree. This flamingo "sunglasses" make perfect napkin rings!

I used bright orange and yellow plates (also from Dollar Tree) atop the fuschia place mats.
The colorful flatware works really well too!

The green glasses were from Home Goods a few years ago.

The flamingo and palm tree stirrers are also from Dollar Tree.

 The Centerpiece:
I found the metal lantern at Home Goods too, for only $7.99

Instead of putting a candle in it, I added water and a small split leaf philodendron (from our yard, so glad there was a "baby leaf" on it as they get huge!

Dollar Tree had the small flamingo balloon and the bright pink silk hibiscus blooms. (Most FL houses have hibiscus, but no pink ones around here for me to pick! ;-)

These small flamingo figurines also came from Dollar Tree:

Look closely at the whimsy swim ring:

The other one is holding a basket:

And they both are wearing flip-flops! LOL!

We recently were at a luau and I brought home the flamingo straw (wish I had four of them!)

Come on over! I'll fill the glasses with a special drink (your choice!)
Here's a place just for you!

Is is hot enough where you are? We are warming up real good here in central Florida! I'm not complaining, I still remember those cold temps last winter!!

I'm also linking to Susan's Tablescape Thursday. Click on her name and Kathleen's for lots of inspiration.

Happy Summer!
