Table Top Tuesday

A big thank you to sweet Marty for hosting Table Top Tuesday each week so we can share our vignette creations! Go here for lots more inspiration.

Inspiration for today's tabletop came from this pretty vintage plate:
I bought this plate last spring when we were on vacation at Cocoa Beach, FL. I found it in an antique shop at Cocoa Village.
I did this vignette on the end table next to the little settee in our living room. This end table is seen from the foyer as you enter our home. I enjoy changing the vignette often.

I added the figurine, it is one I purchased when I was a child around ten years old. I collected figurines and would save up my allowance to buy them. The candlestick is one of two from my grandmother's things. The tea cup is from two special friends, a few years ago.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my most recent tabletop!

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Victoria - A Return to Loveliness

I'm joining Kathy at A Delightsome Life for her A Return to Loveliness Victoria meme. Click on her name for lots more posts on the first Victoria's.
This Victoria is dated Summer 1988, and it has the Good Housekeeping's Victoria title at the top.
I had a hard time photographing this cover as it is very dark, a sepia tone. Even some of the articles inside have the sepia tone look:
This article (pages 54-57) about these gorgeous lacey look cakes is very enjoyable.
I wonder if this baker is still in business, I should have googled it first. The name of the shop is Nutcracker Sweet Shoppe, in Pittsburgh, PA, there's also a phone number!

A pretty double page spread for graduation:

Since I live in Florida, I enjoyed this six-page article about Victorian homes in Key West:

You may click on any of these pictures to enlarge.

Someone recently posted about a Susan Rios article. I found it! It's also in this issue! (Please let me know you posted, so I can read it again!)

It is also a six-page spread
I'm sure this article helped to make her famous!

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Wouldn't you love a slice of this beautiful cake, or is it too pretty to cut!

Tablescape Thursday

Tablescape Thursday is our fun day to play with our dishes! Thanks to Susan for hosting, go here for lots more inspiration.

Inspiration for this tablescape was these little plates I bought at Home Goods this past year.
I have had a hard time coming up with something to use with them though. There are so many shades of greens that it was hard to find the right green color to go with them.

I decided I would use the opposite color on the color wheel for the second color. This would be red! I'm quite pleased with the way it finally came together!
Green and red!!

The floral bread plate is by Mesa.

The red dessert plate is Antica Roma by Gibson, I bought these at Ross at $8.99 for four. The red doesn't photograph well, it is called a Tuscan red.

The square polka dot plate is 222Fifth PTS International Aria Pois Red, I bought them at TJ Maxx for $2.99 each. The white dinner plates are from Dollar Tree.
We've had the flatware for over 20 years, I don't even know the name of it.

The apple green tablecloth was from Home Goods, last year.

For the centerpiece I used a doll sized adirondack chair filled with faux flowers and greenery.

The red blends well with the wineberry color on the walls.

A place for you!

I hope you enjoyed my red and green summer tablescape!

I'm also joining The Style Sisters Centerpiece Wednesday, go here to see lots more!

Have a happy day!

Tabletop Tuesday

Time for Tabletop Tuesday! Thanks to Marty for hosting so we can share our creations! Go here for lots more inspiration.

Today my tabletop creation is way up high! I have a child's table and chairs displayed up high on top of the pantry in our kitchen. Here in Florida lots of homes have the really high shelves near the ceilings. I enjoy displaying various objects on them.

I have a miniature tea set on the table.
A little bird house is on the left and a bird cage on the right.

This is the back side of the shelf, viewed from the dining room:
You can see one of the little chairs and the top of the table.

A longer shot view:

Across from this (to the left) is this high shelf, also in the dining room:

A closer view, the left side of the shelf:

The right side of the high shelf:

While showing high displays, I'll also show the other side of the dining room, above the doors to the master bedroom. I recently found this metal cross at Hobby Lobby for $3.99!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my "high tabletops displays!"
Cucina sign about the pantry door is "kitchen!"

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Tablescape Thursday

Time for Tablescape Thursday! Thanks to Susan for hosting, click on her name for lots more inspiration!

Inspiration for this tablescape came from this little glass shoe my sister gave me back in June when we visited her. I'm naming this tablescape "If The Shoe Fits."
I'm using five different shoes all of various colors.
The oak table shows through the lace tablecloth.

I made lace covers to use over large paper napkins.

The blue shoe:

Beautiful detail:

The green glass shoe:
My mother gave me this pretty little shoe back in the 70s.

The maroon shoe:
This shoe is really a candle!

The shoe centerpiece:
I bought this mosaic shoe at Ross for $1.99 several years ago. It is usually on our lanai.

Displayed on a pretty mirror from Home Goods.

Another inspiration came from these new bronze colored chargers from Hobby Lobby.
I bought these from Hobby Lobby last week for only $1.99 each! I hadn't seen the new design before and like it a lot.
The cream colored flatware is from Home Goods,
as well as the tea cups and saucers. The plates are from Dollar Tree

The crystal is from Ross, about ten years ago.

Which is your favorite shoe?

Choose your favorite and take your places, you are invited to my tea party, if the shoe fits!

My favorite,
but you may have it if it is your favorite too!

Have a happy day!

God Bless.
