Answers to Questions/and "Ask Me!"

I have been remiss in replying to some of the questions a few of you have asked me in the comment section. I don't usually answer the questions unless I can send an email. Lately I haven't been able to send emails from the profiles, so if you want me to send you an email, please leave your email addy!

I will try to remember some of your questions. If I don't answer your particular question, please ask me again and I will reply on this post. Please ask the questions before Friday, as I may be offline for a while after then.

I think Adrienne and Susan both asked me how many china cabinets I have. I have one large china cabinet in the dining room. I display my Old Country Roses china in the top of this glass front cabinet. It also has drawers and two doors for storage.

I have four curio cabinets of various sizes throughout the house, but three are used for my doll collections. Another curio has a collection of a village and figurines, called Ivy and Innocence, that I haven't shown yet. I will do this in a month or so!

Someone asked how many tea cups and saucer sets I have. I counted them once and it was about 41 sets. This does not include my Old Country Roses tea cups. I display the yellow rose tea cups (and a few other designs, such as violets, pink roses, etc.) around the house, on different shelves, or tables. The day of the month tea cups are on a 12-cup shelf on top of my kitchen cabinets (way up high!)

Thank you for your interest in my storage. We store our holiday things in the attic. We also have a lot of Rubbermaid bins on shelves in the garage, but I don't keep my china there. The bins mostly store knick-knacks, decor items, ribbons, tissue paper, gift bags, etc.

If you have a question to ask me, please ask now on this post, and I will reply to this post for a few days. Please check back for your answer. I seldom go back to read replies in other bloggers comment section, that's why I don't reply on my own comment section. How many of you go back to get an answer to a question? I'm interested to know this, maybe I need to change my habit and start going back!

Katherine

P.S. - I'll be online late tonight, but we will be gone all day tomorrow. My husband has his follow-up appointments at Mayo Clinic tomorrow. I'll be back online tomorrow night.

Katherine -
Thanks for answering my question about where you store your teacups and beautiful things. I really must visit you sometime and see it for myself! My house is quite small and I don't have room for all of my things in the house. I've tried to figure out a way to store them for safekeeping yet easy accessibility. Haven't got it figured out yet. Maybe someday we will be able to build on as we dream of doing!

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for leaving your sweet comments. I'll be back again soon.

Thanks Katherine for answering my question of how many tea cups you have. I would so love to come by and choose one to sit down, drink some Earl Grey and chat about our common likes. Hope all goes well for your husband and his check-ups.

oh, let us know how your hubby does! Hope it well go well.

I agree with you--if I answer someones question I go to their blog to answer it, because the person may not come back to the site to look for the answer.

Saying a prayer that your husband continues to receive good news today. Since you've offered to answer questions, I have one for you. Where did you get your love of pretty things? It's interesting when visiting friends' homes as some are strictly practical and some very starkly modern but I always feel most comfortable where beauty is in every room.

OMG, you have a lot of nice things to store. I don't envy you having to dust all that, lol.

Your storage system sounds great, it makes decorating a lot more easy and fun. I don't answer questions in my own comment box very often because I don't know if the person comes back. I usually head over to their place.
Hugs,
Kelli

Hi Katherine,
Depending on the topic, I click the link to recieve any follow-up comments by e-mail.
For comments to me I prefer to send an e-mail if the address is available. Otherwise, I go to their blog and refer back to their comment.
Only occasionally do I answer in the comment section.
i trust everything went well on your visit to the Mayo Clinic.

Thanks to all of you for your comments, and more questions! Alice asked where I got my love for pretty things. I think this came from my mother, we didn't have a lot of money, but I remember when I was small she made kitchen cafe curtains and used crayons to draw different colored tulips across the bottom, and across the top valance! I have always enjoyed decorating, starting with my childhood bedroom, and with each modest home I had. We now have a larger home, and no children at home so I can afford to do a little more.

Betty, I never let a little dust stop me from displaying what I enjoy! I don't dust that often either!! LOL!
