You Make My Day Award

Thank you so much, Adrienne, at With a Grateful Heart for giving me this award, I'm honored! It pleases me that I can make someone's day with what I post about on my blog. Adrienne and I have become somewhat kindred spirits because we have so much in common. She also loves yellow roses, and she collects yellow depression glass! We're hoping to meet each other some day. Right now we are pretty far apart, she's in Oregon and I'm in Florida!

I have recently acquired a lot of new friends reading and commenting on my blog daily. You all don't know it, but you are an answer to a prayer, and a gift of the Lord to me. You see, I was going to stop blogging, I felt no one really cared about my blog, I didn't have very many, if any, comments and I don't have a stat counter so I had no way of knowing how many, if any, people were visiting. Of the blogs I was reading they would have so many comments, some had 60 or more! I knew a few of my internet friends were reading, but they weren't leaving comments. I don't like one-way conversations, as I'm really a listener, more than a talker. I like two-way conversations with feedback when I talk and I felt with no comments, people weren't really interested, or were more interested in other blogs than mine.

I started my blog January 21, 2006 and felt I had just about run the gamut of posting photos of our home. I decided that on my two year blog anniversary I would stop blogging. I prayed that if I was supposed to continue, the Lord would send me blog friends! All of a sudden, lately I've had so many new friends come forward and make themselves known! PTL!

I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and for your loyalty of reading often, some daily. Thank you for letting me know you are stopping by! You all have truly made my day, every day!

I have received a few other other awards, another "You Make My Day" from Alice at Tea in my Cup, she is another kindred spirit friend because of our love of tea, and tea parties!

Some of you have tagged me, and I consider that an honor as well, as it shows me you want to hear about me on a meme, or another way. I haven't been keeping the awards on display as some do, maybe I should start. One of the things about me that I'll have to be honest about is that I am technically challenged! I don't know how to do very much fancy stuff on my blog. That's why I don't have all the bells and whistles on the blog, not because I don't like them, but because I don't know how to do it!! When my grandson came to visit, he helped me a little, but he is in college and doesn't get to come often.

Thanks for allowing the Lord to use you to answer my prayer!

I want to pass this award along to Becky at The Butler's Wife. I think she may be new to some of you and I want you to meet her. Becky can always make me laugh, she has a sense of humor I can relate to. She is a Christian (I think all my favorite blog friends are!) She also does beautiful knitting and quilting, and has the best chocolate cookie recipe around! Thanks, Becky for making my day!

Katherine
P.S. - I'm still working on the centerpiece! I forgot I have a meeting tonight, and will be using the table for a Creative Memories workshop (without a centerpiece!) I will be online later, hopefully with a new photo of a centerpiece!

Oh, Katherine, I'm so glad the Lord provided concrete evidence by way of your new blog friends. I'd miss you terribly if you were to stop.

I don't have many things on my sidebar either and for the same reason as you. I can recommend sitemeter.com though for keeping track of your visitors. It is really easy to use. It lets you see the location of your guests, how they arrived and if they clicked on any links while here. It is such fun to see visitors from all over the world.

OH Katherine, You sweet dear. I can't remember how we found each other, but I'm so glad we did. I just started Jan 5, 2008 (oh, I just realized 1 month today) and I was so impressed with all that you have done. You need to talk to Karla at Ramblin Roads on my list. She'll take care of the site meter thing for you. She's really good at all of this stuff!! You really do need a site meter. You will know all of the lives you are touching that way. People read who will never ever comment. But if they get inspiration from you, well...that's what it's all about. Have a fun creative memories meeting. xoRachel

Well ... how 'bout that!!! You are so sweet. I love that you gave me an award, but even more I love the sweet words you used to describe me. I humbly thank you for your kindness.

And I'd love to have tea in your lovely home anyday. I am glad you are not quitting your blog. I have had such similar thoughts from time to time. And always, I come back to the fact that I have made a handful of dear friends, and that is enough for me to continue.

So I am glad you are still here.

Thanks, Katherine!

Katherine, I am a regular blog reader of yours! I'm sorry I don't comment more often. I tend to skim too much, I guess --- flitting from here to there and not taking time to land and let others know where I've been. Please keep up your good work and creative ideas. You are a blessing to me.

Katherine, I would truly miss your blog. I'm so glad you will continue it. I sometimes feel that no one cares for my blog. But my post last Friday brought the most comments I have ever had. Well, we must each continue to share a bit of what interests us in our posts.

Hi Katherine -
Just wanted to let you know I am one of your loyal visitors as I like to stop by and see what neat pictures and sites to visit that you mention on your site! Especially like your monthly themes -- puts you in the mood for the Holiday on hand for that particular month! Keep it up -- you bring sunshine to gray days!
Illinois has them lately!
