Wednesday

Wednesday's "Worth a Thousand Words!"

I was thinking about doing a Wordless Wednesday, but this couldn't be "wordless" because it's about my 14-month-old Caden! When it comes to him I'm full of words! His parents sent me this photo recently, they know how I love photos and I'm making photo albums for both grandbabies.

Caden is walking and these little miniature saddle oxfords helped him to walk faster. I have such a fondness for saddle oxfords, because my children wore them when they were small. And because I wore them in high school (giving away my age??) Did you ever wear saddle oxfords? My daughters even wore them when they went to a 50's Party! Fun memories!

That really is the sweetest photo. I love the little saddle shoes. I never wore them myself although they were around when I was in high school in the '70s. I think the TV show "Happy Days" made everyone want to have those shoes and leather jackets back then.

I just discovered your blog a couple days ago and have enjoyed reading current and past posts. Imagine my happy surprise when I say in Dec. ‘06 posts that you also have a nativity collection. I started mine in about 1991 and it has grown over the years. It was exciting to see your nativity tree since I have put up a nativity ornament tree in my study and a nativity figure ornament tree in my dining room. For my living room tree I use only angels and glass balls. For the guest room tree and for the swags for the dining room doors I use musical instrument ornaments. For my bedroom tree, I use Lenox angels, musical instruments, and nativity figures.
Well, needless to say, I can hardly wait for the last week in November since right after Thanksgiving I begin to take out my Christmas dishes and other decorations.

My boys both wore those when they were toddlers. I wore them in college when I was a *Warriorette* and they had yellow pom poms tied on them. I still have them.
