Today I'm sharing a little sewing kit that belonged to my mother. I don't think it is real old, but she kept some of her thread and pincushion in it.
I like this little sewing box because it looks vintage, even though it isn't.

Your tin is really cute. I used to work in a fabric shop in the early 80's. Thread was already more than 20 cents then!
That is a sweet box. I like the old labels and the handles. I own a few like that and they are nice to have and display.
The sewin box is very charming...a nice heirloom to have.
I'm looking forward to your Thanksgiving decor.
Katherine,
Your mother's sewing box is lovely. Yes, thread is much more expensive now. I think the last spool I bought cost somewhere around $3.00. What a difference.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed my visit.
Blessings,
Mary
What a cute sewing tin full of great vintage sewing items!
Thanks for sharing this Show and Tell Friday!

Love it, Katherine! Your little sewing kit is so sweet and how nice that you have such a reminder of your mother.

I want one of those! Thanks for sharing. :-)
Katherine, I love tins, and this one is wonderful, and it belonged to your grandmother. How Special!
Lovely box and old thread! I always wondered what the story was on those tomato pin cusions. EVERYone had one. Mine is really big.
That is so sweet..and so vintage. :) I wish threat cost 20 cents now.
Cool! That is a darling tin, wonderful memory of your mother, and great place to keep sewing stuff!
I love how your sewing box looks vintage too! And wow, $.20 for a spool of thread! Last I looked it was a little over $3!
What a sweet sewing box...I learned to sew on a machine like the one pictured...thanks for the memory...
Blessings,
Susie
I love to see thread like that. The last spool I purchased was $2.59! Your tin is so pretty. xorachel
Hi Katerine,
I wish I had something like that from my grandmother. That is so special. The tin is a real cute accent piece.
What a neat little sewing box. It certainly does look vintage. Are you sure it isn't?
Hugs,
Charlotte
I love this! I cleaned out my mom's home recently and brought a lot of her sewing things home with me. She had some old supply boxes, not any particularly like this one, but some cool things nonetheless. I love them and am keeping them to pass on to my daughter one day. Great post!
Please feel free to visit my blog anytime you wish :).
Hi Katerine,
I have a little award for you. Come visit.
Walmart has had some similar boxes in the past few years. I bought one for each of my granddaughers. No, thread is much more expensive now. Thank you for sharing this.
