Show and Tell

Today I'm sharing a little sewing kit that belonged to my mother. I don't think it is real old, but she kept some of her thread and pincushion in it.

Notice the prices on the thread! I haven't bought thread in a while, but I'm sure it's much more than these were.

I like this little sewing box because it looks vintage, even though it isn't.

Next week I will start showing my Thanksgiving decorations. Please come back to see!

Your tin is really cute. I used to work in a fabric shop in the early 80's. Thread was already more than 20 cents then!

That is a sweet box. I like the old labels and the handles. I own a few like that and they are nice to have and display.

Katherine,

Your mother's sewing box is lovely. Yes, thread is much more expensive now. I think the last spool I bought cost somewhere around $3.00. What a difference.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed my visit.

Blessings,
Mary

I love this! I cleaned out my mom's home recently and brought a lot of her sewing things home with me. She had some old supply boxes, not any particularly like this one, but some cool things nonetheless. I love them and am keeping them to pass on to my daughter one day. Great post!

Please feel free to visit my blog anytime you wish :).

Walmart has had some similar boxes in the past few years. I bought one for each of my granddaughers. No, thread is much more expensive now. Thank you for sharing this.
