I loved these matching tea cups, I call them "mommy and me!" (in my case, "grandmother and me!")
I've always thought the April tea cup above was a little strange with violets. I have another April tea cup that has different flowers on it.
Nut dishes with violets
"Look at us, said the violets blooming at her feet, all winter we slept in the seeming death, but at the right time God awakened us, and here we are to comfort you." -- Edward Payson Rod
I have loved violets from childhood. I remember picking wild violets growing under a tree in my mother's yard. I would take them inside and give them to her. She would act surprised and excited and thank me, then she would place them in a tiny vase and place them in a special place. I seldom ever see any live violets anymore, except for African violets. I sometimes buy an African violet plant and it grows for a time, but eventually dies. I can't seem to keep them alive.

(above quote copied from Gwen's Circle Journal, who found it on LaDonna's blog on Jan. 27, 2008! And I had it on my blog on March 30, 2006!! Great minds work together!)
I hope you have enjoyed my violets collection!

Oh, I love sweet violets. You have such lovely things. Where and how to you store all of your tea things. I have such a small kitchen and need to do some type of storage in my garage. Safe storage. And clean storage. Any suggestions? ~Adrienne~
Good afternoon Katherine. I love the violets. Of course I should, since that is February's flower. I have the same February tea cup. You do have a beautiful collection of tea cups. Have you ever counted them? Ceekay
All of your "violet" pieces are so pretty. I especially love the violet cup and saucer. My mom's birthday is in April and I gave her this exact cup and saucer. It makes me want for Spring!

Hi Katherine, you have a lovely violet collection. All your pieces are so beautiful. I love sweet violets and think of them as an old fashion flower my grandma had them in her garden and I have a patch in mine. Hugs, Linda
I love violets, and your collection is so pretty. The little nut dishes are adorable.
Simply beautiful pics & lovely words to end it...We really enjoyed your wonderful collection...have a nice time!
Oh these are lovely. I have to ask, how many cabinets do you have to store all your lovely collections in? I am amazed.
Susan
You have such a beautiful blog layout. I've enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing. I used to collect pretty plates until I had small children.. Now they are getting older, I may start to collect again..Have a terrific day.
Your collections are all so beautiful. The violet items are a delight. Thanks for sharing with such nice photos.
Those are so beautiful and springy! I don't have anything with violets, thought I love them. Our lawn is full of them in the spring. I know they would be a nuisance to those who love a perfectly green lawn, and I do, but I enjoy the violets too! Yay! Spring will be here soon! xoRachel
Just beautiful! I love the tea set you received from your aunt. What a keepsake!
I was thinking the same thing as Becca...Gwen would love your violet collection! :o)
I'm slowly collecting monthly teacups. So far I have August and December teacups. I keep my eyes open for them at thrift stores, yard sales and antique stores.
I always enjoy visiting your blog!
Violets are very pretty! I remember my grandma always had one growing in her kitchen window.
Your collection is very nice. :)
Your violet collection is gorgeous and I am partial to them because my birthday is in February :-)
Blessings,
Mrs M
What a beautiful collection. Here in Wales, the violets grow wild along the hedgebanks in the springtime. The only china I have with violets on are two "gazunders" (potties!) - called "gazunders" because they used to "gazunder" the bed . . .
How beautiful, Katherine. I remember picking violets for my mother too. To this day, I always include jonny jump-ups in her Easter basket.
Beautiful collection of violet you have there!
I saw the violets and I had to
tell you how lovely these I think the tea things are. I am glad you decided to show us all of these
I luv them!!!
I am absolutely drooling over all these violet photos!!! Maybe we can make a deal for any yellow roses that I have???
