For Kelli's Show and Tell, I'm sharing a large painting in our breakfast nook.
It also has a story I will tell you about.
It also has a story I will tell you about.
The large painting above almost covers the whole wall! It's too tall for me to measure it! My husband bought this painting for his first wife, who passed away many years ago. He later gave it to me because it is a tea time scene. It had colors I no longer use - peach and aqua. The picture below is a snapshot showing it behind the "Florida style" sofa in our old house (actually it is on the sofa in this picture, I quickly snapped the picture when we were moving because I had sold the sofa and wanted a picture before it was gone and instead of hanging it up again (it's too big for me to handle) I snapped the picture with the painting sitting on the sofa back and leaning against the wall! I said all that to say: look at how the colors match the sofa it is sitting on!
Now take another look below at how the painting is today, see how the colors have changed:
When we moved into this house with the golden yellow walls, I decided to repaint the peach colored flowers, they are now yellow! I also added a deeper purple to the wisteria vine, and repainted the orange cups to yellow.
We are going on a spring break getaway this coming week. I'm hoping to leave you with a home tour Saturday of my friend's house. She is a great decorator, she does her own upholstery, window treatments, pillows, etc. If you enjoy getting ideas from touring other people's homes, please return tomorrow, you'll see lots of "eye candy!"
Have a great week!
God Bless.

Wow! It looks like a totally different painting. I like it much better now. I'm glad you kept it. I like the lattice and wicker. It gives the impression of light and air.
