Show and Tell - Collection

Time for Kelli's Show and Tell. Click here for more fun at Kelli's.

I have shown this piece of furniture (below) before, but I have never shown what is displayed inside this curio cabinet. Today I will begin sharing my Ivy and Innocence Collection.
I had never seen this collection before until we lived in Indiana and I started collecting them there, a piece at a time. The Ivy and Innocence collection is a small village with many little shops. I like it because it isn't seasonal, it can be displayed year around. Each little building has a storybook tale with people with names.
I think this village has been discontinued now, but I have most of them (I hope!) Today I'm sharing the village Tea Room. Below is Emma's Tea Room as it is displayed on a glass shelf, and the reflection in the mirrow behind.
A close-up of Emma's Tea Room. You can click on any of these pictures to see the detail. Many tiny roses are on each item, front and back.
Below is the back of Emma's Tea Room. It isn't quite six inches tall.
Below is a close-up of "Miss Mary Hemmings" taking tea from a tiny tea cup. She is 3 1/4 inches tall. Each item is numbered and signed.
Above: On the left, this one is named "Tea For Three" Everybody in the Ivy and Innocence Village has the same sweet eyes on their little faces, including the little animals.
Above: This one is named "The Tea Party" Click to see the detail.

Some of the buildings I have in the village are: Bed and Breakfast, Antique Store, Quilt Shoppe, Florist, Schoolhouse, Church, Fire Station, and Restaurant.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the beginning of my Ivy and Innocence Collection, I will be sharing more each week. I hope you'll share the pictures with your children, I think they will enjoy seeing them as well!

Katherine

Katherine, I have some good news that you might be interested in: We built up a second rose arbor this week and today, I will plant my two new Flicit et Perptue climbing roses at each side! Oh, I am so excited... I can't wait to see them in bloom soon (even if "soon" means in 3 or 4 years from now...)

Have a great Friday!

Thanks for showing them off to all of us! I like how you have them in a nice cabinet to protect them and keep them together and hopefully "dust free." HA!
