Childhood figurines

I recently made a new vignette using one of my childhood figurines. I've had these figurines since I was about 8 or 9 years old.  I would go to Woolworth's on Saturday's after receiving my allowance and buy a favorite item, not a toy, but something to decorate with!  The little girl above and the lady below are two such purchases. There was a third one, but sadly she was broken somewhere along the way.

I wish I remembered how much I paid for the figurines, I'm sure it was probably no more than twenty-five cents!

I was happy to discover this little girl figurine matches this pretty antique rose plate I found at an antique store a few years ago.

The "Everyday Blessings" book also picks up some of the colors.

I haven't joined Marty's Inspire Me Tuesday in a while so will share my new vignette there. Click on her name for lots more inspiration.

I'm also linking to Alma's Seasonal Sundays, click on  her name for lots of fun.

I hope you like my vignette featuring my childhood memories.

It's Still Summertime!!

Time for Cuisine Kathleen's Let's Dish! Click on her name for lots of fun and inspiration!

It's still Summertime!! Forgive me for posting the last three posts on Fall decor for the Talent Scouting Party! (I had a mission!) It's still summertime, especially here in FL! I'm one person who does not like decorating for fall early! For one - I don't want to have to look at it for four months till time for Christmas decor, which I don't like to go up before Thanksgiving! I don't like to skip Thanksgiving, skipping thanking our Lord for many blessings! Okay, now you know some of my dislikes! Here are some of my likes - favorites, if you will! Yellow! Yellow is my most favorite color! Yellow daisies are a close second to my most favorite yellow rose!

Inspiration for this tablescape was these bright yellow napkins. I have forgotten where I bought them (maybe Kohl's?)

I wanted to do one more bright summery cheery tablescape, before summer ends. We still have two more months of blazing heat here in FL!

I used bright yellow salad plates with white dollar tree dinner plates, my everyday flatware (Oneida Chippendale) and white tea pot napkin rings.

The centerpiece is a white wicker dolls chair and my Daisy Girl figurine.

I call her Daisy Girl because she has a daisy ring on her head, she is carrying a straw hat full of daisies, and she is holding a daisy in her left hand, can you see it?

She also has daisies on her dress:

I like using one of my doll chair collection in centerpieces. Someday soon I will probably give them to our granddaughter.

But, I will miss them!! LOL!

I debated on whether to use white tea cups on top of the plates:

What do you think?

Or the napkin with tea pot napkin ring on the plate?

I chose this one!

I don't know the name of this crystal, I bought them at Ross about ten years ago. I chose to use these because the gold rim matches the gold on the flatware.

I also couldn't decide which side of the little chair I wanted her on!

I hope you enjoyed my summertime tablescape! Is it still summertime where you are?

Cuisine Kathleen's next Let's Dish Challenge is "Summertime!" I hope everyone joins us there on August 15th!

I'm also linking to Susan's Tablescape Thursday, and Tablescaper's Seasonal Sundays. Click on their names for more inspiration. Thanks to all the ladies for hosting!

Table Top Tuesday

It's been a while since I've joined in on Table Top Tuesday. Thanks to Marty for hosting so we can share our tabletops! Click on her name for lots more inspiration.

Today I'm sharing a new Valentine vignette on the hall tree in the foyer.

I have Valerie, a pretty little figurine dressed in a long dress with a big heart bib on it. She is displayed in a cloche with red roses.
Pearls are draped over the knob of the cloche.

A "Bless all who enter" plaque welcomes our guests.

My husband brought the framed prints from Italy a few years ago.

This large heart shaped ornament is one of my favorite Valentine decorations.

I always display it on this mirror. I must admit that I am usually afraid it will fall and break!
This is the third year I have hung it here, so far so good!!

I do always change the vignette below the large heart.
I hope you enjoy seeing this one!

Below is the only Valentine decoration I have bought this year. I found the unusually shaped heart at Michael's for only $3.99 and 40% off that!
It dangles from one of the crystal wall sconces across from the hall tree in the foyer.

Wish I could find one more of these hearts!
Happy Valentines Day!
Thanks for visiting me!
