Tea Accoutrements

I've been talking a lot about liking loose teas. Above are a few tea time utensils I use with loose tea. From left to right: Tea ball with ceramic snowflake attached. Above that is a small house shaped tea holder. A tea ball holder with handle, on the handle is a tiny tea pot. In the center is a small metal tea pot shaped tea holder. Next is a metal spoon tea holder. Last is a tea strainer, I have loose tea in it. It is used to strain tea if you drop your loose tea into a tea pot without being in a holder. It has a little tea pot on the end of it. Most of these were given to me as gifts.

Have you ever used one of these at tea time?

Thank you for your interest, please leave a comment! And please do return soon!

I've received some of these same ones as gifts too. I haven't used strainers since I started using teapots with mesh baskets to hold the tea.

Katherine,

I have used these to make tea. Mom had one shaped like a barrel. It was fun to use. I've also used a tea strainer. I don't have one of these. I really should have, as it makes it much easier than trying to avoid tea leaves in the bottom of your cup. Loose tea, in my opinion, is better than tea bags. Of course that's the way I was raised.

Thanks for educating us on the subject of tea.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Katherine,
Yes, I've used my metal spoon holder. You have a very nice group of accessories for your loose tea. Thanks for sharing.

I used to have one of those tea strainers, but mine didn't have the tea pot on the handle. How cute.

Hi Katherine! I have the exact same strainer with the teapot on the end. Revee gave it to me. :0) I always mean to use loose leaf tea but end up with bags. I think the loose leaf tastes better!

Katherine, you have a nice collection of tea strainers. I own the same little teapot one. I inherited two silver strainers. One has holes in the bowl part and is decorated with enamel. The other has a screen type strainer.
