Being Chosen

It's so nice when a fellow blogger makes me one of their choices!

A great big thank you to Alice of Tea in My Cup blog for the "You Make My Day Award!" Well, you just made my day too, Alice!!

I enjoy visiting Alice's blog, she has wonderful unique ideas for tea parties. She shares many unusual recipes for these tea parties. She has been featuring a Chinese New Year Tea Party which looks like it would be so much fun. Even the food is hearty enough to satisfy my husband! Sometimes Alice shares beautiful photos of her Victorian home.

The second person who chose me yesterday was Martie Hitting the High Notes Martie is a sweet Christian lady, she has a fabulous Give-Away to celebrate her 100th blog post. She tagged me for the Seven Random/Weird Things meme. As weird as I am, I have never done one of these before!

Here are the rules:

1. Link to the person who tagged you;
2. Leave a comment on their blog so that their readers can visit yours;
3. Post the rules on your blog;
4. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog;
5. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post;
6. Include links to their blogs;
Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here are 7 random or weird facts about me:

  1. I have lived in Florida 42 years, but grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, where the space program began. Werner von Braun and his famous German Team moved to this small town, then it became a boom town!
  2. I went to high school with the brilliant Germans children, they were very intelligent as well.
  3. I was a cheerleader for three years. I worked as a “waitress” in my dad’s restaurant.
  4. After graduation I worked at Marshall Space Center in Huntsville, my boss was one of the German scientists.
  5. After marrying I moved to FL. We could watch the rockets and Space Shuttle from our front yard!
  6. I stayed home for 21 years, loving being a Mom, homemaker, and hobbyist. My main hobby was Tole and Decorative Painting, I sold many of these paintings as a part-time job.
  7. I went to work for NASA at Kennedy Space Center and was there when Challenger exploded.
  8. I’m retired from NASA now and enjoy retirement.
  9. I’m afraid of heights. I’m afraid of snakes!
  10. We’ve had alligators in our yard! I’m afraid of them too!

It seems that everyone I know has already done this so I don't know who else to tag. If you haven't done this, please join in the fun and participate. Let me know if you do and I will post your name here.

Thanks so much!

Katherine

How nice to learn these interesting details about you, Katherine. I did this meme too but with a tea twist. It was lots of fun.
