Royal Wedding, What to Wear

I want to join Laura Ingall's Gunn, Decor to Adore, at her Royal Wedding "What to Wear." Click on her name for lots more fun.

I was all set to wear my beautiful Victorian frock, but then read Laura's post and learned one should never wear black to a royal wedding! Wonder what the British fashion police would do if I wore it anyway!
My husband bought this wonderful two-piece ensemble for me when we were visiting St. Augustine, FL a few years ago.
I had no place to wear the dress, but I was so in love with it, he bought it for me anyway!
I finally had an opportunity to wear it to a tea party at our neighborhood clubhouse a few years ago. These pictures were taken then.
I also won first place in the style contest!

Back to the closet on the hanger! I'm happy to have another opportunity to share my treasure with you! I hope you like it, even if the British would frown on it!

I decorated this wide brim hat to wear with the dress.
We took our own tea cups to the tea party and I took the yellow rose tea cup above.

Thanks to Laura for hosting this fun party!

Katherine

Oh my! I am in LOVE. What a dress. Queen Victoria wore black to her son's wedding. :) Of course she also sat in a sequestered cabinet as well due to her perpetual mourning for Prince Albert.

Let's put you in the pretty princess and hats off category.

Thank you for linking up.

I don't care what the British fashion police would say, that dress and hat ensemble is absolutely gorgeous and suits you so well! You look so elegant and I have no doubt you would fit right in with the royalty:-) Such a shame you can't wear it more often...you need to come up with ideas so that you do have a reason for wearing it again! lol xoxo
