So I quickly put another candy corn tablescape together using a white tablecloth over gold:
I did reverse the two napkins, above the white sheer is on the outside.
Below the yellow napkin is on the outside:

I used white, yellow, and pumpkin plates for the candy corn effect.
And I used the yellow handled flatware with the white tablecloth.
I added fall colored faux hydrangea in the orange wicker pumpkin centerpiece

I had planned to have a bit of whimsy with the other centerpiece saying the beaded spray represented the inside pulp of the pumpkin (seeds, etc.) were spilling out!
The candy corn mini cups were filled with the sweet, sweet candy corn:
Somehow most of the real candy corn disappeared after the first pictures were taken.
Which candy corn tablescape is your favorite, the black, or the white tablecloth?
Thanks to Susan for hosting Tablescape Thursdays, so we can play with our dishes and enjoy seeing each other's creations! So fun! Go here to Susan's blog for lots more inspiration.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my candy corn tablescapes! Won't you join me, here's a place for you!
Candy corn story – We don’t usually get any trick or treaters in this neighborhood and I had no candy to give out. Our doorbell rang at about 8:30 p.m. and about six young teenagers were at the door! They didn’t have masks and were cute and clean cut. I told them all I had was one bag of candy corn and would they share it? They agreed to! I’m glad I bought that candy corn – only bought it for the tablescape, and it was buy one, get one! (I do like to eat it once a year, but it is pure sugar!

Below is a wooden candy corn pin I bought at a craft show years ago. Doesn't he make you smile?

I like the striking look of the black with the candy corn for Halloween and the white for a fall 'scape. I like how you coordinated your dishes with the candy corn.

Looks so pretty! The centerpiece is wonderful!
I love the lacey whiteness--just love that tablecloth!! I also love the spray in the centerpiece.---I love anything berry. Do you remember where you got that?? (my cat is so bad he even tries to eat the fake stuff at times!!)
It is so interesting to see what a few changes can do- totally new and different look. Oh, your yellow plates are so pretty, and your yellow flatware!!!!! I love yellow. What a great table.

Your table made me smile. I've been over dosing on candy corn for two weeks. Finally finished the last crumb in the candy jar, so until next Halloween.....
Thanks for sharing. ~ Sarah
What a fun candy corn tablescape -- love both ways you've shown it to us.
Katherine, this is so lovely. The colors and all the textures just make me smile with delight. Lovely!!

candy corn is my most favorite, so your setting really struck home with me..my mouth is watering, love the dishes
LOVE that white tablecloth! My husband just asked me to throw out the rest of the candy corn--said he couldn't be trusted :)
I absolutely love that centerpiece! The candy corn gives the table a whimsical air and the dishes are lovely.

Very cute - I like them both ! I love candy corn too - really love the carmel apple flavored ones - I did not buy any this year :o(
So nice of you to share a whole bag with those boys ! We don't ever get any trick or treaters out in the country...but, I always buy one bag just in case - cuz I get to eat it every year !

I like both of your TT's but for different reasons & seasons. But I LOVE your basket centerpiece for ALL SEASONS! What a great piece to decorate....full of possibilities.
I need to go browse more of your blog, as you have such interesting items. LOVE those square yellow dishes. :D

me again....I've just spent over an hour perusing your older posts & I love what you do with YELLOW!
Did you have a post giving the history of yellow depression glass at one time? I think I remember reading it but I can't find it now. If so, would you mind popping on over to my blog & leaving a link to that information? I was telling a friend all about it & wanted to show her your info as well as some of your wonderful collection. Thanks so much!
fondly,
Rettabug
Great table for Fall, very nice centerpiece, and the pin was to cute.

Katherine, it is amazing at how a change of table linens can change the appearance of the entire table. Everything is just as gorgeous as it was with the black tablecloth. Love the lace, it is stunning. We don't get any trick or treaters either, and I didn't even have a bag of candy corn. Aren't you glad you did. Hugs, Marty
Hi Katherine
Love the candy corn...it looks pretty on both tablecloths. I love those square dishes..the embossed look is so pretty. Great centerpiece too. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.
Maryrose :)
Oh-h-h, isn't it fun to try out different combinations with all your tablecoverings and accessories?
I love candy corn and look forward to getting some each year; but since my doctor told me to cut down on sweets, this is the first fall I didn't buy any!
I loved all of your pieces but I really loved the floral centre-piece. It just makes everything look so cozy and inviting.
Best wishes, NM.
It is amazing how just changing the color of the cloth can make such a difference. I liked both looks.
Hi Katherine,
The black cloth adds drama, but I'm rather partial to the table with the lace cloth. Your centerpiece and the yellow handled flatware work perfectly with the lace over gold.
When I was a child, I remember nibbling the candy corn, trying to eat one color/section at a time. I've read that it IS sugary, but low in fat ... so we could definitely be eating something worse for us! I had several trick-or-treaters this year, but I had bought my favorite chocolate mini candy bars in case I ended up with a lot of "leftovers."
Hope your weekend goes well.
Bill
I'm with DD (first comment) I was totally thinking exactly the same thing. Black before Halloween and White after :)
Happy Autumn!
L
I do agree, the black tablecloth looks like Halloween and the white tablecloth more fall like. Each very pretty in their own way.
I loved the look of both tablescapes!
Really pretty dishes!
You did a great job and I loved the story of the trick-or-treaters!
All the best,
Eileen
Thank you for visiting my blog tonight. I love your candy corn table, it is one of our favorite fall candy! I am going to follow your prayer blog, thank you for putting that together!
P.S. We had an exchange student with us for one year from Korea. Sang Min taught us all how to eat with chopsticks!!
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am new to the blog world.
Your tablescape is beautiful. Love the candy corn! My favorite candy this time of year.
I am signing up to follow your blog.
This is Donna again...
I just found your prayer blog. I need this in my life right now. My 29 year old daughter Amber passed away in July and I know she is in Heaven and we will see each other again, however my heart is broken. Please pray for me :)
Blessings and Hugs,
Donna
Such a fun table! I'd love to find some candy corn accessories - especially some of those glass pieces. Best of all I love the chuckle the little candy corn pin brings me. ~Adrienne~
love candy corn, yes makes me smile
I like the white one best.
I turned out my porch light fairly early and only had 8 visitors. One little boy across the road is in an electric wheelchair and is in the 10th grade. I don't know what his condition is but he comes each year with his Dad. In fact all of them were with parents which I think is a good idea.
I do think that there should be an age when trick or treating stops, though. Maybe around 13 or 14. What do you think?
I like Candy Corn. You're right it is very sweet. Thankfully it isn't available more often.

My dh is a big candycorn lover. We have that little candycorn dish that you have too. I love the little pieces of candycorn and the centerpiece you used also.
