Tablescape Thursday

It's Thursday, time for Tablescape Thursday! Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting this fun party for us each week!

Today I'm sharing a Thomas Kinkade tablescape. Last week I went to Marshall's and found these Spode "Cottage" dishes by Thomas Kinkade. I went back on my word again about buying more dishes! Now how could I not buy them since they were so inexpensive and go so well with our collection of TK paintings!

All the plates have a different design on them.

These first four are the dinner plates

The following four are salad plates:

The centerpiece
I had a little trouble putting this tablescape together. I had planned to do it last week, but couldn't decide on a centerpiece. (I was trying to use a few of TK books.) Yesterday I found this in one of my stash boxes that I thought would work since it kinda looks like a house. The base is a picture frame. The flowers are faux hydrangeas.

I also had difficulty with the napkins, I have wine colored napkins but they aren't a perfect match to the tablecloth. I decided to use the sage colored napkins. Speaking of tablecloths, at first I used my green tablecloth, but decided to switch to this one since a lot of wine color is used in TK paintings.

These four pictures show the different combinations of plates and salad plates

The plate above is the same as one of our TK paintings. Here's our painting, it is in our family room,
it is "A Quiet Evening"

Below are the four TK painting hanging in our dining room:
This painting above is "Tea Cup Cottage"

The painting below is "Old Porterfield Tea Room"
The tea room paintings above hang on each side of the door to the kitchen

This painting above is Stillwater Bridge/Sweetheart Garden I. It hangs in the corner between the china cabinet and the window beside the tea cart.

The painting above is "Lamplight Village," it hangs over the curio cabinet in the dining room.

Another TK painting in our house:
This is Stairway to Paradise/Visions of Paradise I.
I also have TK's The Perfect Yellow Rose/The Rose Collection III, is also in the living room.

Okay, do you think I should have bought these plates? I only bought four of each!

The backs of the two sizes of TK plates, to show the prices!

The dinner plate
The salad plate

I do enjoy them!
and the centerpiece was "free!"

For chargers I used the large dark brown/bronze trim plates I bought last summer at Hobby Lobby, for $2.80 each.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Thomas Kinkade tablescape, and our collection of TK paintings!
My husband and I are very opposite, but we agreed on the TK paintings. We bought most of them when we lived in Indiana and dh was working on a wonderful job!

As you can see I only bought four dinner plates, and four salad plates. I never buy a whole set of dishes! Some people must think I do as I'm asked often by other bloggers where I store all my dishes. I don't have as many of most of you, I just keep using the same ones over and over, with different accessories.

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

Hi Katherine,
Your new plates have such beautiful colors in them and your choice of table linens set them off to perfection!

As far as whether you should have fallen off the "no more dishes" wagon ... I just don't see that you had any other choice!!!

Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Fondly,
Bill

That centerpiece goes perfectly with your new china! The blooms could have been plucked right out of a TK garden. I have never seen dishes like that. They're lovely!

Oh Katherine, I am really late getting around, but I am so glad to see your pretty tablescape. I just love the TK dishes. I havn't ever seen any of these before and didn't even know that they made them. They are just stunning, and putting them with the wine tablecloth just makes them pop. Your centerpiece does look like such a picturesque little house, just like something you would see in one of his paintings. Everything is just lovely and I know you will really enjoy your pretty dishes. Hugs, Marty

Katherine,

Your table looks beautiful!! I think all of the pieces coordinate very well. The napkins particularly look so perfect with your lovely plates. And I just love the centerpice you made. I never would have guessed a picture frame!! I will remember that trick!

I think TK is a wonderful artist. I have been collecting his Christmas Village and I have more pieces than I have room for! My daughter loves to set it up, thank goodness!! I just love to look at it all lit up!

Happy Tablescaping, Katherine!!

Greetings Katherine~I'm finally back from my summer long blogcation.

What a lovely collection from the *painter of light* Mr. TK. The tablescape is so beautiful. How fortunate to find the dinner plates at such a bargain! I've seen the TK plates at a hefty price in various gift boutiques.

My favorite cloche....is the lady (skirt vase) in the etched glass. She brought back memories of my sweet grandmother, who had a similar lady on a lamp.

I've enjoyed catching up. Please stop by...I look forward to the return of your company.
Sweet wishes,
Sara

Yes, now I see why you had to get them--with all those pics you have! WOW! Those are pretty dishes...what did hubby say? lol...I kind of made the same agreement with my hubby....that is why I was surprised when he bought me those dishes a while back. BUT I am just like you. I buy a few so we can have some change. --then I kind of sneak them in and sometimes he doesn't notice --HA--I am BAD. But I have told him I like to buy a few second hand ones or ones on sale---they make me happy.......I know I am rationalizing.

Your new plates would display nicely on the wall too. I thought you came up with a nice centerpiece to compliment the settings. The movie I was trying to recall that I saw advertised is called Home for Christmas. Apparently it is somewhat biographical of Kinkade. It came out in 2008.

I love Thomas Kinkade and you have such a beautiful collection! How could anyone pass up those plates?! And at such a bargain!
Those dishes are really unique!
Beautiful post! I really enjoyed it!

Your tablescape is beautiful and you have such a wonderful collection of TK paintings.

My Marshalls didn't have the plates, but they had a couple of matching candlesticks. They were quite large and priced at $4.99. One was chipped, so I didn't buy the pair. Now I'm wishing I had bought a single candlestick. I'll be looking for the plates now.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Charlotte was going on and on about this post but I have been slow it getting here. You really do have a lot of Thomas Kinkade "stuff." I am impressed. We have three pictures, a throw and some books. The pictures were gifts from different members at our last church. ..You asked about New England. We will be staying in the Boston area while our daughter spends a week at Harvard. She works for the state and they are sending her. When she is finished with her training we will drive up to Maine and then down south to Cape Cod before coming home.

Hello Katherine, Another lovely table setting! I love the TK paintings they are beautiful. I too hardly ever buy sets, I just mix and match and then fill in to make it work. I just went to the sale at Pier 1 and picked up some pretty dishes on sale, they were 25% off :)
Have a beautiful day and God Bless
