Tablescape Thursday

Tablescape Thursday! The day we get to play with our dishes, share with others, and see what tablescapes they are sharing! Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting each week! Go here to see many more tablescapes.

It is exciting to see how these tablescapes come together. Each week I don't think I'll have anything new to come up with, but so far something comes together somehow. This week's tablescape started with these napkins:

I saw these napkins at Marshall's a few weeks ago. At first I walked past them, but went back to get them because I liked the colors. At the time I had no idea how I would use them.

When I came home I took out my butterscotch yellow dishes to see if the napkins would go with them, hmmm, yes, they do, but now I would have to come up with a centerpiece. Couldn't find anything.

A week or so later we had to drive to Daytona Beach for a doctor appointment. We had lunch first, then had about 30 minutes before the appointment. Just enough time to run into a Ross that was closeby! I made a quick run through Ross, oh the thrill of the hunt!! LOL! Nothing.
Wait, what's that I just passed by? I turned around for a second look. Hmmm, would this work? I could always give it as a gift to someone later.

I really like Jim Shore's things, but they really don't match my decor. This is a copy of Jim Shore's. Isn't she cute?

I was so excited to see that this little chicken did indeed match the dishes and napkins!
I had a new tablescape!

The burgundy tone-on-tone tablecloth
gives a nice contrast to the yellows

I tied the napkins with satin ribbon and tucked
in a few small fall flowers

I used yellow handled flatware

This tablescape is a breakfast or brunch tablescape
with bagels, juice, and coffee

The baby chicks on the mother hen are really cute!
Best of all this Jim Shore copy only cost $6.99!

She makes a great centerpiece, don't you think?

A while ago I used these same dishes in a more formal tablescape:

to see that tablescape, go here.

This tablescape with the same dishes is much more casual:
Okay, look what else I bought! They looked so sad to be left behind, I just had to bring them home as well! How cute are they!
I decided not to include them in the chicken tablescape, maybe their time will come later.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this tablescape! I enjoyed putting it together!

This place setting is for you! Tea or coffee?

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

Darling chicken and piggies! I am very fond of plaid, and love those pretty napkins, as well as the plates, cups and saucers. I think I saw those at Home Goods...should have bought them!

Beautiful, as always!

What a pretty tablescape. I love your hen and the cute little pigs too. Your gorgeous tablecloth just sets off your pretty dishes so beautifully. I really like the pretty way you placed the napkins too, the flower rings are lovely. The same dishes in the more formal setting is beautiful too. I really liked that centerpiece. Hugs, Marty

What a welcoming table. Your color palate is just fantastic for fall. The chicken adds a whimsical touch to the tablescape and helps to keep a lovely relaxed feel. Any guest would be happy here. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Hi Katherine,
I wanted to get back to you about your question on my blog concerning the Tea Kit with cups/saucers, cookies, candies, tea strainer, tea and box.

It was purchased at good ole Walmart. I haven't seen any for months. Perhaps more will come out closer to the Holidays.

Hope that helped. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a nice comment.

I sure love bloggin'!
God bless,

Katherine:

This is adorable. I love the colors, so bright and vibrant. And both of your center pec are great. Looking forward to what you do with those little piggies.

Also, I like your idea of showing how you previously used the same dishes in a different tablescape. It really shows that it's all in how you dress it - kind of like adding accesories to clothing.
