Gone With the Wind 70th Anniversary!

I'm taking part in the GWTW 70th anniversary party Nikki at Scarlett Rose Garden is hosting. Go here to see lots more GWTW posts! Nikki is a young lady in her 30s, she loves to dress in vintage clothing and shoes! She also enjoys dressing in Scarlett's clothing, and Rose, of Titantic, clothing. I always enjoy her posts!

I'm sharing my Scarlett dolls, starting with Barbie in her Scarlett picnic dress.

She has such beautiful green eyes!

You can see the pretty wide brim straw hat from the back.

Next I have four Madame Alexander 8-inch Scarlett dolls:

She also has big green eyes
I really like this pretty white ruffled dress

I had to have this Scarlett because of the yellow dress!
She looks so pretty in yellow!

A different version of Scarlett's picnic dress and straw hat:
Oh, those pretty green eyes!
The pouty rosebud mouth is a characteristic feature of the Madame Alexander eight-inch dolls

Another pretty style of the white party dress

So pretty in the flowered hat!

Scarlett and Rhett
I only have these two tiny Scarlett and Rhett dolls

They are actually Hallmark ornaments!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my GWTW dolls!

Thanks, Nikki for hosting the party!

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

Katherine, I have just viewed your GWTW post. Your dolls and ornaments are so lovely. What a nice collection you have. Yours is the first post for the Ball that I have seen. I did not have any memorabilia so I had my 88 yr old Mother write her memories of seeing the movie in 1939 when she was just 18 yr old. I hope you will enjoy seeing her pics now and then along with her words!

What a great collection you have! I have the Little Women Madame Alexander dolls but they are VERY worn. We played with them when we were small unfortunately. I enjoyed seeing your Scarlett and her dresses. Have fun at the rest of the ball!

Great post Kathy! Would you beleive I do not have that particular barbie? I might buy the set some day if I find them cheap enough!
I just adore the MA dolls. Would like to add them to my collection some day as well. I only have one Scarlett and one Rhett. And Rhett is MIA, havne't seen him in a long time and can't understand why they'd be split up!
Ok, NOW I'm going to bed. It's 2:30!! Insane!
Thank you for attending the ball, it was fun!

Where do you display these dolls..I often admire the different Barbies. I'v often thought of purchasing them.
I have some normal ones from yard sales for the kids to play with but none of the special ones. I get the catalog and there have been some I've wanted. I like yours, all of them.

Love your photos of your Scarlett dolls with all the wonderful costume detailing.

They are so beautiful.

Noticed you worked at NASA - how interesting - had scrolled down and was reading some of the fascinating things about your astronaut friend and the lovely gifts she gave you. And that she is going to be on a space station!

Katherine darling, GWTW was my mum’s favorite movie, she had the decorative plates on her walls and she must have watched the movie over 500 times. This reminds me of her whom I miss very much. Your dolls are absolutely gorgeous what a collection. Enjoy them darling and thanks for the post and the memories.

I remember going to see GWTW for the first time in the early 1970's when they re-released it in the theatres and falling in love with Rhett Butler:-) I had then gone out to buy the book and to this day still have it! You have such gorgeous Scarlett dolls...the dresses are fabulous and makes me want to dress up like that:-) Beautiful! xoxo

Oh! I am a big fan of Gone with the Wind. It is a longtime favorite. This was so fun to read.

Also, thank you for the suggestions on paint color for my laundry room. I'm thinking either goldish yellow or red...I will keep you posted. :)
