Yellow Depression Glass

Inspiration for this tablescape came from these plates. I purchased them recently at an antique store when I went to visit my friend. I collect yellow depression glass, but didn't have matching plates. The name of this pattern is Madrid. See the diamond  shape in the center:

Now that I have dinner plates I can do a complete tablescape with my yellow depression glass collection!

For the centerpiece I used a pretty yellow glass platter, topped with silk flowers.
Everyone knows my favorite flower is the yellow rose so I included these in different glass sherbets down the center of the table.

I only have one of these parfait dishes, wish I had more!

Each sherbet is a different design, and sets on a different saucer:

They are all very delicate and pretty!

I think they make such a pretty centerpiece!

Each place setting has these pretty ruffled bowls on top. I'm sure they have a name, but I don't know what it is! If you do, please tell me!

I also collect yellow rose vintage hankies. I wrapped a different hankie around each napkin:

I used faux crystal handled flatware to keep with the delicate color scheme.

 Which napkin is your favorite?

I also used mismatched yellow depression glass tea cups and saucers.

I forgot to take a picture of each cup and saucer :-(

A view from the top of the biggest centerpiece

Now is a good time to show my yellow rose tea cart, since I haven't shown it in a while. I usually keep most of my yellow depression glass collection on top and bottom of this tea cart. With a lot of it used in the tablescape you can see the painting on top of the cart.

 It is handpainted:
You can see some of the painting through the plate!

The tea cart sets in front of this window in the dining room.
The curtains are made from a crocheted table top cover (on the left), and a crocheted table top runner (right.) The curtains are off-white voile. I made them years ago.

I hope you like my yellow depression glass tablescape with the yellow roses, two of my favorite things!

Spring Tablescape

I haven't posted a tablescape in a while, but I have had this new spring tablescape on our dining room table for several weeks now.

I saw these pretty square plates at TJ Maxx some time ago and loved them because they were pale yellow. I wouldn't buy them though, even though they were only $3.99 each. A while later they went on sale!

Now they were only $2.00 each! I gave in and brought them home!
I wasn't able to find any of the smaller salad plates :-(

They look pretty with these napkins on top!
I found them at Home Goods.
Pearl napkin rings were perfect! The cream colored flatware and cream colored tablecloth completes the monochromatic theme.

For the centerpiece, I used these three little yellow birds from Michael's along with yellow roses on a matching platter, and pearls to tie in with the napkin rings.

How cute are they?

We have enjoyed this soft and pretty tablescape and I haven't wanted to change it.

I really like these sweet little yellow birds, and they were very inexpensive, only a couple of dollars each (on sale!)

A special place for you!

I hope you enjoyed my spring tablescape!
