Why I'm MIA!

If you think I've been MIA again, here's why:
I've just bought this book and spend all my spare time reading! I'm a slow reader and it's over 500 pages long! I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out next week!

I was raised in the South

Yes, I'm a member of the GRITS club!

Let me tell you I never knew of anything like this going on when I was growing up in the 50s in north AL! Of course I didn't know any wealthy people with maids then either!
Have you read the book? Did you like it? Will you see the movie?

Well, excuse me please, I have a date with a rocker and a book!
See you soon!

I have plans for a new blog post that will appear soon. It's more of a personal post, but will have lots of decorating pictures of our house! I hope you will return in a few days to see it!

Let me know if you have read the book and what you think!
Katherine
P.S. - If you are looking for a tablescape, scroll down if you didn't see the one I posted last week!

ARGHHHH! Me too! I got the book over the weekend, and I could not put the thing down until I finished. I actually stayed up so late the other night that I had a headache the next day.

I'm planning to go to the movie when it comes out. I don't go to a lot of movies, but I'm going to this one.

This is a highly "discussable" book.

Adored the book! My friend recommended it and I couldn't put it down. I become MIA also when I get a good book! It is kind of fun now that the kids are grown - not so good when they were little!

I know exactly what you are talking about Katherine. I could not put that book down!! Going to see the movie. Had no idea it was to be a movie when I read the book a couple of months ago. I am thinking of doing a review of the book.

I bought the large print because I was overdue for a much needed eye exam. I had my appt. yesterday and ordered new glasses. Now, maybe I can go back to regular print.:-) I think I would have still been reading The Help had I not had the large print.

I'm reading it too -- about half way through -- would love to see the movie when it comes out...after I finish the book (it may be "on demand" by then though.

I've heard about the movie but I have not read the book.
Looks interesting.
Enjoy your reading!

Katherine, I just finished the book last week! It was very well written. Mind boggling to a Yankee, though!

I did read this book and hope to see the movie. It's definitely one that will capture your attention and hard to put down. Enjoy!

I am beginning my art house project for August and thought on you on this one. You will have to visit later in the month to see what it is.

I have not read this book. I am an avid reader and have already read 11 books so far this year and currently on my 12. The first 10 are listed on the sidebar of my blog. I have been a reader all my life and love it and cannot imagine a world without books!!!!

I've been wanting to read this book for a while. Maybe I'll see the movie first and that way I won't be disappointed when they leave out my favorite parts in the book.

Your burgundy and green tablescape is really pretty.

I will read it, but I don't know about the movie. They never live up to my expectations!

I've seen the movie ads but haven't read the book. Perhaps I should read it soon! One problem: the stack of books waiting to be read is growing, not going down. It sounds like a good book and I think the movie will be good, too.

P.S. - I started reading blogs from the bottom of my list so you were first! I should see if I can get my list to come up in random order instead of alphabetical so you would have a chance to move to the top, my friend! You're still tops with me!
