Tablescape Thursday

I didn't think I would be participating in this week's Tablescape Thursday since we've had a death in the family, but our plans to travel to GA have changed until tomorrow so I'm using my blog and Tablescape Thursday for therapy! Thanks to Susan for hosting weekly go to her Between Naps on the Porch for lots more inspiration.

I quickly put this tablescape together and am pleased with how it just came together with things I have around the house.
I guess the inspiration came from one of the Christmas gifts my husband gave me! This pretty flatware with buff colored handles are right at home with all the yellow/gold accents we have!
I just love the antique look they have. He bought them at Tuesday Morning. They are perfect with these yellow plates from T J Maxx. I know some of you have these plates in white, or blue.
These napkins were also part of the inspiration for this tablescape. I bought them at Home Goods last fall. I thought they were unique and of course, they were "cheap!"

I didn't have anything for a centerpiece so while looking around for something I spied the matching platter to the china. I used some styrofoam to make a floral arrangement. I almost put these silk flowers away with the Christmas decorations, but decided to hold them out perhaps for Valentine's day. I didn't know I would be using them so soon! I like the gold edging on them to match the design on the napkins.

I also used the two gold mercury glass balls (something else I decided not to put away with the holiday decorations.)

This tablescape could be a Sunday night supper with coffee. I wish I had soup bowls to match the dishes, I went ahead and used the soup spoons anyway! Maybe they can be used for a bread pudding or a warm cobbler!

This place is for you (Are you left handed? I always place the tea cups or glasses on the left side for balance in the photos. I do have left handed friends that would like this!

For you, my right handed friend!
I hope you enjoyed this impromptu simple tablescape, as I said, it's good therapy to be creative when feeling down. We will miss Angela, my husband's sister, but we will see her again -- in Heaven!! Praise the Lord for eternal life!

Thanks for visiting, my blog friends are very important to me and you'll never know how much pleasure you bring with your visits, and your comments!

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Katherine. Back Porch Musings began a few months after the birth and death of our grandson. Blogging helped through those early months.

Your table is absolutely beautiful!

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I understand the therapy part of blogging and glad you were able to lose yourself in creating your tablescape. It has worked for me when my grief becomes too much. I sometimes think God pointed me in this direction....Take care with your travels
