Tablescape Thursday - Polka Dot Tea Party

Tablescape Thursday is here! Click here at Susan's blog for lots more fun and inspiration.

Today I'm sharing my Polka Dot Tea Party. Inspiration for this tablescape came from this black polka dot tea pot.

Any time we go to Jacksonville or Orlando I always have to go to Home Goods! My husband always goes around and takes a look at what HG has. Before Christmas he found this black polka dot tea pot and brought it to me, he wanted to get it for me because he knows how much I love these colors! It was only $9.99!

After Christmas we were at Hobby Lobby and I found these little tea cups and saucers. They were priced separately, $1.99 each, but they were half-price! So, a tablescape was coming together!

I was just going to do an all black and white tablescape, but last week when we went to Home Goods again, I found these red square chargers!
I don't use a lot of red and didn't really need them, but they were only $9.99 for four. I don't have any square chargers, so in the cart they went! I can always use them for Valentine's Day, Independence Day, and Christmas!

I had red napkins, but Wal-mart had black and white polka dot fabric and I bought enough to make napkins!

I was planning to get some black and white cookies to go on these two Southern Living platters, but they only had the saucer size cookies and I forgot to order the smaller ones in time.
I decided to use this ribbon plate in the centerpiece.
I already had these cute little creamer and sugar servers:

I also started my Valentine decorating today. I wanted to use this heart garland with some polka dot hearts on the dining room window.

I bought this garland last year at TJ Maxx. I must still have a little country in me! Back in the 70s I decorated with country decor (as most people did!) I still love it!

The little red polka dot ribbon came on the teapot
The ribbon is another reason I decided to use red with the black and white, and with the red roses, it can be a Valentine theme.

These colors could also be used with a Mickey Mouse theme, using a few Mickey items in a more casual setting. Another theme could be Alice in Wonderland, or a card party! Any other ideas?

After taking all the pictures and posting them, I realized something is missing. Do you see anything missing? LOL! I forgot the silverware! And I have my new black handled silverware I showed you last week (remember the $3.99 set?) It was dark when I realized my mistake, so I didn't take more pictures because the flash doesn't work well with the white.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my black and white polka dot tea party tablescape! Thanks to Susan for hosting!

Friday I'm celebrating my 4th Blogaversary with a give-away! Please come back and leave a comment to be eligible for the give-away. I will draw the name next week. I will post the pictures of the give-away Friday (it's a surprise!)

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

This is darling and so cheerful -- now you could have gotten away with telling us you were only serving "finger foods".

Katherine,
YOur polka dot tea party is adorable. It was fun to read how you found all the polka dot elements of the table in many different places. And it came together so well. The red plates give a big pop to the overal look. Very, very cute!

Great color theme and love polka dots. One time I broke the lid to a black teapot and had a yellow lid that would fit it; so painted yellow polka dots on the black teapot and put the yellow lid on. I still use it sometimes.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me a comment.

I am so jealous of your black and white polka dot stuff. Everyone keeps talking about the Home Goods store and when I went there was very disappointed.

I just love what you did with your tabletop.
