Tablescape Thursday

Tablescape Thursday is very exciting with so many beautiful Christmas tablescapes! Thanks to Susan, Between Naps on the Porch for hosting so we can share with each other! Go here for lots more inspiration.

Inspiration for this tablescape started with a silk Christmas scarf. I found these pretty red and black scarves at a dollar store for only a dollar each! I bought all four thinking I would use them as gifts (after doing a tablescape with them!)
I used the large black (with gold edges) plates (purchased at Hobby Lobby last summer) the white Dollar Tree plates, and red pottery plates, then topped it with a silk scarf and gold napkin rings.

The centerpiece was the hardest part of this tablescape as I don't like to use the usual centerpiece of flowers, but something unique. I had to settle for a black wicker basket filled with red poinsettias.

I like the effect the black and red gives, simple, but dramatic and elegant!

I'm sharing a trick I've been using for a few years with my tablescapes:
I use tablerunners on the backs of my parson's chairs! I bought these runners at Dollar Tree about two months ago - one dollar each!!

How do you like red and black for Christmas?

I made another purchase this past week that enhances the tablescape I did last week. (See here.) When we went to Cracker Barrel I found the salad plates to match the hor d'oeuvres plates on sale for 25% off! I wouldn't buy them when they were $5.99, but now they are on sale, so......
Remember this tablescape from last week? Click here. Here's how it looks with the salad plates added. The salad plates have holly on them, they were about $4.50 each on sale. They tiny plates were $2.99 each (I bought them before they went on sale.)
A better look
I don't think I'll have any regrets about buying them, do you!

Back to today's Thursday's Tablescape:

I hope you enjoyed this one as well!

A place for you!

For a real dinner place setting I will be practical and
add red cloth napkins inside the silk scarves!

I know everybody is very busy during this time of year, and not much time for reading blogs. I find going on the computer and reading blogs is very relaxing for me, just like sitting with a good decorating magazine at the end of the day, to unwind. I hope you are able to get some rest, and enjoy your Christmas preparations!

Merry Christmas!
God Bless.

Katherine

I like the black and red together. The silk scarves are a nice touch. I wondered if they were napkins when I first saw them. I also like the other tablescape. I probably missed it. I like the plates with Joy on them. You find the neatest things on sale.

Red and black is very striking! I have just recently gotten into black and have lots of plans to use it. I am a typical traditional person when it comes to Christmas. I love the deep reds and greens..but you would make one rethink tradition with your lovely red and black. I love it! Really lovely!

This is all so pretty! Don't you love Cracker Barrel? I was there tonight, but had to resist buying anything. So glad that you were able to get those salad plates. The scarves look wonderful on your tablescape.
