Decorating B'day Gift Con'd - Living Room

AFTER: Jan's living room has been transformed and we love the way it turned out!

Below is the BEFORE picture:

We moved the sofa, chair to and rug to the family room.
The large picture was moved to another room.
The large flower arrangement on the coffee table was removed.

We didn't have a theme for this room, but it quickly became a
tropical theme! Here's how it happened:

This large picture was taken from a back room:
It has a tropical look with palm trees.

Next we moved this hibiscus picture from another room:
And these metal birds from another room:

And this lamp from the family room:

 Voila!
Tropical!

Below, here's the BEFORE of the Bombe Chest before we took away
the large picture and the items on top:
We removed the large floral arrangement and the candle box:

Velvet furniture is back in style, so we added this vintage blue chair
that belonged to Jan's mother!

I also rearranged the curio cabinet, removing several small items:

AFTER: Coffee table:
AFTER: The coffee table also has a tropical look with
a metal tray filled with shells:

Note the cute little seahorse too!

Above: A white throw ties the colors together

(After) Long shot of living room looking toward lanai porch and pool:

Opposite view. Looking toward front door:

A second blue velvet chair next to the glass doors to the lanai
Jan grows orchids and this rust colored orchid just bloomed,
it is the color of the rust pillow Jan made from fabric from India.
It also matches the rust chair and lamp across the room

AFTER:
The Foyer
This large niche is in the foyer
we decorated the niche with a tobacco tray (above)

We later added two large plates that match the flower pot:

We left the brackets at the top since Jan sometime
hangs the quilts she makes in the foyer.

AFTER: Living Room:
I hope you enjoyed seeing this transformation of Jan's living room.
I think it is my favorite room, we are so happy with the way it turned out!
We are mostly decorating with what Jan already has, she hasn't
had to purchase very many items at all. We "shop" the house!
