Rehearsal Dinner

We are back from attending our grandson's wedding. I helped with the table decorations for the rehearsal dinner. I think this will qualify for Kathleen's Let's Dish as she specifies "table related" and this is "tables" related!  The food was served buffet style, so the dinner plates were on the buffet.
A few weeks ago I posted the bronze buckets we used (click here to see) Each bucket had live mums in them and wooden initial tags hanging from one handle.  A picture of Emily and a picture of Taylor at different ages were on either side of the buckets.
Some of the tables had burlap bags across the center as table runners.

All of the burlap bags were different.

The two pictures below were so cute. Taylor was riding a little green plastic tractor and Emily is in front of a real John Deere green tractor, they are both about 3 or 4 years old in the pictures.

The candle holders the restaurant used tied in nicely with our rustic decor. They were filled with small pebbles.

This is my youngest grandson, Caden, he is seven.  Taylor, the groom, is my oldest grandson. We also have another grandson, Tanner, and a granddaughter, Elisabeth.
Scattered on the table runners were York chocolate peppermints with stickers on them with a "P" for their last name and the wedding date.

Below is my husband, Joe, with Caden and my daughter, Ashleigh with her husband, Shawn (Caden's parents.)

Below is the head table where the wedding party sat.

I decorated the bride and groom's chairs:
I tied burlap ribbon and white lace around the chair then added orange silk ribbon and baby's breath.

The groom's chair had the burlap ribbon and lace with only the orange ribbon in a bow.

At the entryway a table held name place cards, the guests took theirs and sat where they wanted.  That's my daughter, Alyson, the mother of the groom.

Next, on the left is a table displaying a photo album of Taylor's proposal to Emily, and a framed picture of the proposal with three little girls holding signs that says "Will" "You" "Marry" "Me." These little girls were also their flower girls. Click here to see the unusual proposal.

The bucket with burlap holds Pumpkin Pie Almonds, they were delicious! Have you ever had them?

Close-up of the large mums potted plant on the table:

The only pictures I took of the bride and groom were when they were listening to the "speeches" their family and friends made (with an "open microphone.")
Taylor is in the gingham shirt:

This is the only picture I took of the food, it is a chocolate Milky Way cake - yum!  The rest of the menu was: Salmon, Chicken Kabobs, Green Beans and Almonds, Corn on the cob. Hors d'oeuvres were oysters on the half shell and scallops wrapped in bacon.  The dinner was held at Southwood Golf Club.

I hope you enjoyed seeing our rehearsal dinner party,  Thank you for visiting. I must tell you about the flowers, we were hoping they would bloom before the party (and they did!) We were also worried about the deer eating them!! LOL! (They didn't!)

I will post the wedding pictures soon, I'm waiting to get more from others. Here's one of me with them at the reception:

Next week I will post my Halloween tablescape, I hope to do it tomorrow. Being gone made me a little behind!

Congratulations all around!!!!!! This is a really terrific rustic setting! I love the use of burlap to give it a rustic, fall look! The mantel is really nice, too!!

Everyone looks really happy, and I'm very, very happy for the couple!!!

I have never had pumpkin pie almonds or even heard of them. I'll have to see if I can find some to taste around here!

Well wouldn't you know it? I had no more read your email yesterday and headed over here when I got a text that totally changed my plans for the day and I never got here.

I'm so glad you told me it was here because I wanted to see this! I loved the centerpieces already and think the whole finished thing was perfect. My favorite part was that you used similar pictures for the bride and groom growing up on every table. The newlyweds ought to consider using some of them in their new home. Wouldn't the tractor ones be cute blown up and hung together? (Tell them your invisible friend Debbie thinks so.)

Ever since you first started posting about doing a rehearsal dinner I have been thinking how fun it would be to have a son and do this. I guess I'll have to wait until I'm a grandmother like you and do it for a grandson.

Wonderful all the way around!
(And sorry to be so stinking late.)
