Table Top Tuesday

I always enjoy joining in Marty's Tabletop Tuesdays! Thanks for hosting dear Marty! Click on her name for lots more inspiration!

I have an encore presentation from November 19, 2008 that I'm sharing this week. These are some of the turkeys I use for Thanksgiving decor. Just yesterday we retrieved the Thanksgiving box from the attic and I haven't had time to decorate yet. I hope to have new designs, using these turkeys, and other Thanksgiving things soon!

Also at the bottom I am sharing three turkey crafts you can make.

Turkeys for "Turkey Day!"

I bought the turkey, above, at Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago. Last year I added the Give Thanks sign also from Hobby. (See below:)

The "Give Thanks" is fashioned from metal.

The large wicker basket turkey is filled with silk florals. I made this years ago and display it every Thanksgiving.
A close-up of the wicker turkey.

The wicker turkey above is smaller and is filled with purple toned silk florals. I used to sell floral arrangements like this (and other holidays) at a gift shop.

A close-up of the smaller wicker turkey. Notice they both have lace bibs with ribbon bows and pearls!

The turkey above is made from a mushroom.

A small turkey tea pot.

Thank you for your interest, I hope you enjoyed meeting my turkeys. Come back soon to see these turkeys, pilgrims, cornucopias, and other Thanksgiving decor used in different vignettes!

Also see the turkey crafts below!

Turkey Crafts

My grandson made me this silk leaf turkey pin many years ago. I still wear it! I think it would be easy to make: supplies: silk leaf, popsickle stick, brown pipe cleaner, wobble eyes, paint, pin back.

Glue a pin to the back of the leaf after it is decorated.

I bought this cute little flower pot turkey at a craft show. Some of you crafty people could probably man one like him, using wood cutouts with the mini flower pot.

I'm showing this side for you to see how the round circle is glued inside the flower pot.

I bought this turkey hat for my grandson, Caden. I bought it at Target for a dollar. It is made of foam cutouts, I think it would be easy to make. Below, see the back side with elastic band attached.

Happy crafting!!

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Katherine

Katherine, all of your turkeys are gorgeous. I especially love the one made from the mushroom and the little pin your grandson made for you. How sweet is that. The basket turkeys with the lace bibs and pearls are so unusual, and so pretty. Thanks so much for linking to TTT Hugs, Marty

Boy! You have turkeys coming out your ears. I love the metal one. Very unusual. Also like the Give Thanks sign, as I am a metal sculpture lover.

Katherine, I think you have cornered the market on turkeys, and I think my favorite one is that cute mushroom one! What fun!

Morning, Katherine... popping back by to answer your question about the tree/shrub. It's downtown in the historic district in Old Town to be exact. It belongs to a friend of mine. Several people have said they think it's a cassia. It really is gorgeous. I don't think they like cold, but the cold last winter didn't seem to do this one much harm. It's back in full bloom this fall. They only bloom once a year.

I'm going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow with my BFF who is up here visiting with my godson. They are driving up this morning. Did you find anything wonderful?

If you ever come downtown, I would love it if you would drop by and see me. You can park in my driveway as parking on the street is at a premium down here!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hey, I hear you have been talking to my old friend, Marigene. Beware, even though she lives in KS, she is a Vermontster! :)
