Show and Tell - Tea Set

For Kelli's Show and Tell I'm sharing more about my Spring Violets tea set that I featured on my tablescapes post below. This tea set was given to me back in the late 50s by a favorite aunt. I have no idea how much she paid for it, but I saw one like it in an antique shop several years ago for over two hundred dollars! This aunt didn't have much money then and I'm sure she only paid a small amount for it back then.

The tea pot is 7 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches wide from spout to handle,
probably holds eight cups of water for tea.

Spring Violets by Rossetti is on the bottom of the tea pot.
It was made in Occupied Japan.

The Sugar Bowl

Check out the post below to see this tea set in my Violets Tablescape.

Go here to Kelli's for lots more Show and Tell fun!

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

I love this tea set!!! I forgot to tell you I love the place mats in the other post! The luggage box with the purple satin and flowers is wonderful! I won a luggage box, of butterfly's that match my wedding china. I may have to borrow your lovely idea! I have the green napkins, wish I had not passed up on a Violet tea set now, for this table setting is so lovely!

Hi Katherine...

Ohhh my...what a beautiful tea set!!! It's not only beautiful but such a treasured keepsake from your Aunt too!!! It really is one of the prettiest tea sets that I've seen...of course, I love violets and purple is one of my most favorite colors!!!

I just had to go and check out your Violet tablescape too! Your violet table is gorgeous!!! The place settings are so pretty...love those lime green placemats! They look like they're metal? Ohhh, sure wished we had a Home Goods here in Colorado! I think your centerpiece is so pretty...I love the idea of using the pretty box...it's perfect!!! Well my friend, I loved both place settings...but I think that my favorite is the one where you used the pretty pot of violets on the plate with that fabulous little leaf shaped violet plate to the side! Such a beautiful table...I would have loved being your guest!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

I love this set, too! I will have to search for that on Ebay! I want a fancy teaset for my second daughter who loves to play tea party but I haven't found the right one yet until yours.

You don't mind if we end up with the same one do you? ;-)

Dear Katherine,

What a lovely tea set. It's "double whammie" not only because it is lovely but also because it was given to you by your favorite aunt.

Thanks for sharing. May you enjoy it for many years to come.

Hello Katherine,
Be still my heart...what a beautiful treasure you inherited from your Aunt. I imagine she is drinking from a tea pot made of gold now...
This is the most elegant, most beautiful teapot. I love violets..my bedroom is done in lavenders, purples, and white.
I saw your post on chari's blog and I thought you might be a Pink Saturday participant. I have a lot of them to still post on...225 is a lot of visits.
nice to meet you and I will come back...thanks for praying before you get on the internet
