I hosted a tea party for my original prayer group members this past Friday. One of our members, Barbara, had moved away for five years, and now she is back! Three of us have May birthdays,
so we decided to celebrate with a tea party!
I used my Old Country Roses china on a wine colored tablecloth. The centerpiece above is
OCR Bunny Tea Pot, OCR waterball/music box, and OCR ginger jar.
OCR Seasons of Colour salad/dessert plates with topiary designs are layered on
OCR dinner plate, used as a charger. Double topiary shown.
Single topiary pattern shown here. OCR napkins and tea cups complete the
place setting along with a crystal water glass.
This is a sugar scuttle and mini shovel server with sugar cubes. I purchased this from a FB friend recently. I always wanted one and so happy to find it!
The Menu
Lemon Scones (made with lemon yogurt)
Lemon Curd
Strawberry Jam
Sandwiches were:
Open face cucumber
Egg Salad
Curried Egg Salad
Pimento Cheese
Mini phyllo cups with chicken/grape salad
Cheese Straws
Chocolate Petite Fours
Mini Cream Puffs
Cookies:
Italian cookies
Shortbread cookies
Earl Gray Tea
Black Tea
Below the table has all the food displayed. Friends are L to R: Gail, Marianne, Katherine (me), JoAnn, and Barbara. One other original member was out of town and couldn't attend. I had several hats I've decorated for other tea parties so we wore them!

Popping over from ATAA this morning. What a lovely group of friends. Curious; what was the purpose of the red noses? Pure delight or in support of a cause? I like how you did 2 types of egg salad. A little less work, but still 2 choices. I sometimes do that with curried chicken, and cranberry chicken sandwiches. I need to get ready for church, but thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day.

The purpose of the red noses was pure silliness to be happy! One of the ladies has had a bad medical diagnosis and we wanted this to be a happy time!

What fun! It all looks lovely and lunch sounds delicious. Prayers for better health for your friend. God bless all of you!
Katherine, it is wonderful for everyone that Barbara moved back. Sorry one of your friend's health isn't so good right now. Sending up a prayer that she will be okay.
Your menu sounds delicious and your table was beautiful as it always is.
Have a great week.
What a lovely table setting sweet lady. I know your dear friend loved every minute of this special day along with all of you birthday gals! I am IN LOVE with your sugar container or whatever it is called! How elegant! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
OH, My, Katherine!
What a charming party, and what a lovely group of friends! The setting is so beautiful and welcoming, and the table so graciously appointed---what a wonderful way to celebrate a return, a homecoming, or simply the being together of such a happily gathered group.
I don't know where you are, but if y'all were close enough, I'd invite the whole bunch of you to my house RIGHT NOW for tea. I'm totally and immediately in love with each and every one of you ladies, and congratulate you all for your taste and luck and spirits in having such a congenial, sweet group to call each other FRIEND.
Can't wait to delve into your lovely archives!

PS Would you think it was all right if I used a couple of your pictures on my blog, to link to this splendid occasion?
I've seldom been so captivated by a group or festivity, and would love to mention how charming I find it---and all of you.

PPS I'm totally G-rated, with what we call a "wisp of HEY, Y'ALL!"
