Tabletop Tuesday

Time for Marty's Tabletop Tuesday! Tonight I'm sharing an area in our living room that I seldom show because it is so hard to get a good picture due to the large window that causes a glare.

This pretty Bombay chest sits in front of the window and the pictures seldom turn out with the blinds open, even with them closed it is hard to get a nice clear shot. I'm tried day and night shots, with and without the flash, with blinds opened and closed. Any suggestions?

I recently changed the tabletop to a look for spring.
On the left I redecorated the terrarium with little white birds and dried yellow roses.

On the right of the lamp is a large yellow rose plate and a lady figurine.

I wish you could see the floral hand-painted pattern
on the Bombay chest.
It has a large spray of roses in a tall vase.
It shows slightly here (above)

This vignette is across from my computer armoire where I sit nightly!
I'm enjoying the new Spring view!

The little birds look so cheerful

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Thanks for visiting!
Thanks to Marty for hosting! Go here for lots more inspiration.

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

Bye, bye Birdies!

Hi Katherine! Oh, what a pretty vignette! You know, I just love the little birds and the plate, the figurine, the lamp. Just love it all.
Thanks for popping in and I hope you'll come to my party on May 7?

Oh how pretty this is. I used a terrarium on my table for the bridal shower this past Saturday -- I liked it so much, I used it as a centerpiece for this week's tablescape -- with white birds! We were really thinking alike. Love your pretty plate with the rose on it...this is all so beautiful!

Love the terrarium with the birds and roses added. I have the same problem with taking photos due to glare from the windows. You made a lovely vignette on that table.

Katherine, this is so pretty. I love the chest, I can see part of the pretty painting. The terrarium is one of my favorite pieces and the yellow roses and the birds look so pretty together. That plate with the yellow roses is a stunning piece too and your lady figurine is just wonderful. Beautiful vignette. Thanks so much for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

I would be happy to look across the room and see that pretty little scene looking back at me! Great job!

Love your banner picture too ~ is that your front door?
All the best,
Eileen

Your chest is beautiful and your spring vignette on top is lovely. What a nice view from your computer! Even though I love dishes/plates, I always forget about displaying one in a vignette! Your lovely yellow rose plate has reminded me to try that. The little lady in front goes perfectly as do the dried roses in your terrarium. Sorry no suggestions for better pics in front of a window - I have a hard enough time taking pics even when the light is perfect!

Katherine, that is a sweet vignette. I like how you decorated the etagere. I dreamed about trying to buy another ceramic bird in a store that was closing, and I was hurrying trying to pick which one I liked before they shut the doors!

One suggestion for solving the light problem with your picture: On my camera you can do what I call a half click, holding the button halfway down but not clicking all the way. Wherever you have the camera pointed, it sets the light for the photo. For example, on your photo scene you would point the camera at the dark chest, do a half click to set the light setting. Keep holding the button down and then move the camera to point where you want the photo centered. My camera screen indicates when the light settings are complete before I move the camera. Check your camera manual and you may have the same feature. Hope this helps.
