Tablescape Thursday

Tablescape Thursday, time to get out the dishes and create a pretty tablescape! Thanks to Susan for hosting so we can enjoy this fun hobby! Go here for lots more inspiration!

I had no idea what I would do for a tablescape today! I started looking and found these little plates I've had for years, but have never used them, they were still in the box, a friend gave them to me.
Each plate has different colored lilies.

Even though I had five colors, plus the white to work with I couldn't decide what the main color scheme would be, and couldn't decide which tablecloth to use. I placed a plate on top of one of the white plates from Dollar Tree, then tried to decide on a tablecloth.

It needed something else, so I looked for a charger, or place mat. I bought these round yellow polka dot placemats at TJ Maxx a few months ago. I was surprised that they look remarkably good with these plates, don't you think so?
The "crystal" is from Dollar Tree. The flatware from Ross.

Next the centerpiece gave me a problem, but finally decided on this vase full of bright yellow daffodils!
The little figurine is one I bought when I was a young girl, about ten! I collected figurines even then!

Recently I have been organizing my stash of decorating goodies I use for tablescapes and tabletops. I found this box of candleholders that were bought back in the 70s, look at the price!
I only had two white tapers, so I decided to use them without candles. Each one is a different color, seems to be a pattern with all the items in this tablescape today!

The napkin rings are ceramic with 3-D flowers and the ribbons on each are each a different color.

A place for you
Or do you prefer one of the other colors?

I, of course, prefer the yellow!
I hope you enjoyed this Spring floral tablescape!

Have a happy day!

God Bless.

Tabletop Vignette

I'm joining in on Marty's Tabletop Tuesday and Susan's Metamorphosis Monday, thanks, ladies for hosting! Go here and here for lots more inspiration.

I'm sharing the transformation of the little lady bust I bought at Hobby Lobby a few months ago. It was on sale for $4.80.

I recently used the little bust in a tabletop vignette. (Below) This is the original color.
I didn't like the original color and knew I would paint it when I bought it,
but I tried it in this vignette first.
I like this color so much better!

The details of her face and blouse show up much nicer now.
I'm also thinking of glazing it with umber or ochre to highlight the details
but I took the pictures first in case I don't like it afterwards! (LOL!)

Inspiration for this vignette was the little girl bust. I had bought the pretty vase at Hobby Lobby when we were in Knoxville recently. The book is really a box, on sale half-price at Michael's.

The mirror is from Home Goods a few months ago, and the little bird from Michael's.

From this color:

And it was on sale for this!

Which is your favorite color?
This is mine:

It was a fun transformation . Metamorphosis!
And a great Tabletop vignette!

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Tablescape Thursday

Thursday is our fun tablescape day! Thanks, Susan, for hosting for us! Go here for lots more inspiration.

Today I'm doing an encore of a past tablescape. I think this is the most favorite tablescape I've done this past year. I first joined Susan's Tablescape Thursday a year ago this month. I went back and counted how many tablescapes I have done and it is 47! (Well, that was including three Christmas in July tablescapes.) I wish I had numbered them from the beginning. The actual date of my first one was April 9, 2009 and I had planned to re-post my first TT, but since it was an Easter tablescape I decided to do one of my favorites. Above is the centerpiece of the tablescape I named "Cameo Appearance."

Inspiration for this Cameo Appearance tablescape started with this cameo votive holder above, it came from Dollar Tree.

I also have a collection of cameo pins, earrings, etc (a few are displayed on the mirror above.)
I had the cute frame from back in the 60s. I looked online for a cameo picture and was elated to find the little oval picture that fit perfectly in the little frame!

Each place setting had a napkin folded like a fan and different cameo pins on each "fan"

I was very pleased with the outcome!

The black chargers were on sale at Hobby Lobby.
The little vintage crystal-look sherbets were on sale at Ross.

I think this is one of my most favorites because it is a little more creative than usual.

Which is your favorite cameo?

I hope you enjoyed seeing this tablescape again, or for the first time!

If you have been following my blog this past year and remember
some of my tablescapes, can you tell me which was a favorite of yours?

It all started with this votive!
I hope to use these again some day if
I can come up with something else different!

A place for you!

Have a happy day!
God Bless.
