Tablescape Thursday - Violets

For today's Tablescape Thursday I'm sharing a tablescape done with my collection of pieces of violets china. Go to Susan's Between Naps on the Porch for lots more pretty tablescapes.

Due to the sudden death of our neighbor, I didn't have time to prepare a new tablescape, so I have an encore appearance of this tablescape done over a year ago.

I used purple fabric for the table cover. The centerpiece is a small luggage look box covered in violets paper. A nosegay of violets tied with sheer purple ribbon is on top with purple shiny beads.

Small flower pots of violets (from Dollar Tree) are covered with bright green polka dot fabric, tied with a ribbon, and placed on top of white plates.

Placemats are lime green, I bought four at Home Goods on sale for $3.00,
the reverse side is yellow.

Violets tea cups are at each place setting.

My violet tea pot, creamer, and sugar bowl were given to me when I was a teenager by a favorite aunt, it is a treasure to me.

A violet colored pitcher is used to pour water into the lime green tumblers.
I bought the green tumblers at Home Goods for $1 each!

Below: miniature violet chintz tea cups hold tea lights

Leaf shaped plates with violets are beside each place setting.

Actually I started out with the leaf shaped plates on top of the white dinner plate.
Like this:

But then started tweaking and decided I like this look better:

Which do you like best? Above, or below?

This is my favorite:

Thank you for visiting my Thursday Tablescape!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my tablescape again, or for the first time.

I'm also linking to Centerpiece Wednesday, go here for lots more inspiration.

Have a happy day!
God Bless.

Katherine

This is one of the prettiest tablescapes that I have seen. Either way looks great, but I do think the flowers on the plate and the leaf dish on the table is my preference. I love, love, love all of your violet tea cups. Don't you have a wonderful aunt to give you the pretty teapot and creamer and sugar bowl. Thanks for sharing,

Very pretty! What I'm wondering is where do you keep all of these things when you're not using them?

This is one of the prettiest table settings ever! I love the colors and dishes.

I've just gone through a bunch of your posts and I'll try to remember to comment on them all here. Your vacation looked wonderful. All that shrimp, yum!! Good thing you had three people to eat that volcano cake, geeesh; and that it was half off, lol!

Lulu's looked wonderful. Glad you were able to take Elisabeth there.

Some great pics of you and Joe throughout. Like the one of Joe by the frong, ha!
Loved the topiaries. That's neat about the "fragrant gardens".

The potpies looked FAB. Will have to try it, along with using the cresent dough for a cobbler. Lovely presentation on all of your peachy confections. I bet it was all yummy.

Liked the choche pics too, cannot find any around here!!

I'll have to try some of those summer salad recipes too. I think we've had the rasp. basalmic before.

The soft yellow background on your blog is gorgeous, love the banner pic too.

Thanks for your words on ILR; you are right about my mom!
Off to finish catching up!
Hugs,
Nikki
