Our weekend

Caden is 9 1/2 months old, this is his first visit to Florida! Here he is wearing Joe's hat! Below are pictures of Caden with Elisabeth, Caden is two weeks older than she is.

Where have I been? On Cloud 9!! Our children brought our grandchildren to visit over the long weekend! Here are the two youngest, Caden and Elisabeth, with Joe and me. Mind you, I don't usually let myself be seen in public without makeup, but here I am, what you see is what you get! I was so busy with the babies I have no time for makeup! I'll show a close-up of my grandmother t-shirt later.
Here are the big boy grandsons with Caden. Elisabeth came for only four hours. They delayed their trip to Cincinnati a day just so they could stop by and let the babies meet each other. I wish we had remembered to take a picture of her with all the boys.

Revealed (Finally!)

I finally took the time to load the pictures. Ya'll guessed right - mini tea sets! I had hoped to do a cute vignette setting, but because of lack of time I'm just showing them inside the cases.

This little mini tea set had to join my bear collection, plus with two grandbabies I thought it would be perfect for their first tea party!

This was the first mini tea set in a wicker case I bought. I like it because it looks like the Fiesta dishes I have!
When I saw this gingerbread man tea set I ordered it because it will be perfect with my gingerbread man collection at Christmas time. I hope to display it Christmas with my two large gingerbread man and gingerbread girl dolls.

Monday

We're back!

We're back home again, but came back to being super busy again. Our daughter and her family are coming this weekend!
We spent the weekend at a Marriage Renewal retreat sponsored by our church. It was wonderful, but emotionally draining. Even so, we recommend it to everyone! We have been totally wiped out all day today! I took pictures of the pretty grounds where it was held and will post them on the blog when I can.

My daughter, Ashleigh, is taking a cake decorating class. She made me this beautiful yellow rose cake tonight! (She ran out of room for the "Mom" so added it later.) Too bad I'm in Florida instead of SC where she is, so I could eat it! I am so pleased she made the yellow roses! I think this was her third cake decorating class, didn't she do a good job! She works full-time as a CPA, has a nine-month-old baby boy, and she enjoys this new hobby a lot!

Friday

Be Back Soon!

I didn't mean to keep you in suspense so long about the wicker cases, just haven't had a chance to take more photos yet. This is my birthday "weekend" and we are already celebrating, some friends took me out to dinner tonight and to a little theater to see Steel Magnolias. I took a few pictures and hope to share them next week. My husband is taking me away for the weekend, so I won't be online until we return. I'll reveal the wicker cases contents when I return. Thanks for your patience!

Tuesday

Wicker cases

Can you guess what's inside these wicker cases? I will show you soon!

Monday

First Mother's Day

My daughter, Ashleigh, celebrated her first Mother's Day yesterday! She loves being a new mother. Caden is now nine months old! I don't often show pictures of our family, but want to share pictures of both of our grandbabies on my other blog. My older grandsons are also on it.

Friday

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope to be back blogging soon! May you all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mothers Day

Someone sent me this today and I thought it was cute enough to share!
Famous Mothers:
COLUMBUS' MOTHER: "I don't care what you've discovered, you still could have written!

MICHELANGELO'S MOTHER: "Can't you paint on walls like other children?Do you have any idea how hard it is toget that stuff off the ceiling?"

NAPOLEON'S MOTHER:""All right, if you aren't hiding your report card inside your jacket, take your hand out oft here and show me."

ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S MOTHER: "Again with the stovepipe hat? Can't you just wear a baseball cap like the other kids?"

MARY'S MOTHER: "I'm not upset that your lamb followed you to school, but I would like to know how he got a better grade than you."

GEORGE WASHINGTON'S MOTHER: "The next time I catch you throwing money across the Potomac, you can kiss your allowance good-bye!"

THOMAS EDISON'S MOTHER: "Of course I'm proud that you invented the electric light bulb. Now turn it off and get to bed!"

PAUL REVERE'S MOTHER: "I don't care where you think you have to go, young man, midnight is past your curfew."

ALBERT EINSTEIN'S MOTHER: "But it's your senior picture. Can't you do something about your hair? OY! Styling gel, mousse, something...?"

Mini Tea Set and doll

Another mini tea set gift from a friend. It is displayed here in the breakfast nook in front of a very large framed painting. This doll is one of the first dolls I bought for my new doll collection. (I still have some of my childhood dolls.) This doll was named "Yellow Rose." That name, of course, is why I bought her!

Wednesday

Mini Tea Set

This mini tea set was a gift. It is usually in my doll case when I have my dolls dressed in all white or cream displayed.

Tuesday

Mini Tea Sets

I have been given several mini tea sets over the last few years. I will start sharing them with you. This one is a little bigger than some. My dear husband bought it for me once when he was driving home to Florida from Indiana. He found it at a Cracker Barrel, and said he just had to buy it for me! I bought the matching cup and saucer later. This vignette is on a table in our master bedroom. Sorry about the cords from the TV armoire, I didn't even notice them when I took the picture!
